And yes, Caitlin Clark was in that class to, but she wasn't rated as high as Beuckers and Reese (though she was rated very high behind them with a bevy of excellent NCAA or WNBA talent in that class). Remember, there was a Covid Year, which gave College Athletes and extra year if they wanted it like HVL (Hailey Van Lith). Regarding College and Clark. It was more the hype train. I follow women's tennis as well;. Think about, all the young "phenoms" we've seen over the years that don't live up to the billing, or even take the sport seriously relative to their talent? Same thing in major team sports, right? Doesn't matter if your the leading scorer, or broke various NCAA records. That doesn't guarantee success, and you can become a flop. in the pro's. Happens all the time, even with "Highly rated " players by the pro scouts. Basically the Powers that Be: Gave Clark outsized, unprecedented publicity/Propaganda/Marketing that we've never seen before (they had their ulterior motives of course) for a player that never won a title; was not leading in College NIL $$, etc., and/or had some question marks for their pro potential. So, the PTB essentially told us that she would be practically the best player in the League the moment she got there (was never going to happen), and that she had no flaws (causing them to overemphasize the good, and minimize the bad from her), etc.. So this caused a curiosity factor (The Bronny James Effect), where a lot of people believed it, and wanted to see who this player was. That even, leads into your last questions. LOL The reason why people go after the Super Casuals so often is: They either believed, wanna be part of a club/winner (the bandwagon effect), etc., and they want to only talk about Caitlin Clark in the most simplistic' exclusive and annoying fashion. They're everywhere, and quite obnoxious. That's it in a nutshell. LOL Kinda like when Serena and Venus hit the scene (and you were on Tennis websites with so many of their fans being glory hunters), but in reverse, if you know what I mean. LOL. But at least, Venus and Serena had did, and/or won some things when their Bandwagon fans wanted to be obnoxious. Not so with Caitlin Clark.
