would be a whole lot better if you include captions of neighborhood AND cross-streets , simply putting a caption "south side" doesnt help. "south side" could be Hyde Park or South Shore or Englewood , since you dont speak much in your videos you could just say . . . "I'm in Englewood at x-y-z cross streets" it provides a point of reference for those of us watching , just do it .
My stepdad whom I consider my real father cause he raised me was from the southside of Chicago. Instead of joining a gang he went off to the military after the military he moved to Bham Al where he met my mom & they got married. We were the only blks in our whole community except for one more family up the street and around the corner. We attended the best schools and lived a middle class life. It’s all about decisions you make in life that’s gonna ground your outcome🙏🏽❤️. My dad is now deceased but I thank GOD for him everyday of my life. He was the best provider & disciplinary a father could be. Just to think he came & was raised on the southside of Chicago amazes me. Love you Dad🥰.
That’s the difference as everything starts at home. I’m from Chicago also and it’s not easy coming up in the hood. But with a good set of parents in your ear the sky’s the limit
In each of these videos I always find my thinking about the original architects and engineers who designed and built these environments. I wonder what they had visioned for their projects and what they would think about how things have turned out. What would a design look like for a society with no social fabric?
Makes sense what your saying but back then no one really last century expected something like covid to socially affect us like it does at present when it reached us 2 1/2 yers ago, generation gap being a minimal issue from my personal observations & experiences
I find it funny how you as an Australian are interested in seeing these hoods in Chicago. To be honest, West Side is where I'm at. Charlie even showed my Ally 😂. Anyways, I can tell you your morning alarm clock is either a police Helicopter in the air or an Ambulance. It gets really dangerous anytime here.
i like to see people on the streets living their lives, not living in fear. never live in fear, no matter how bad the neighborhood. just keep your eyes open.
As an Amazon driver, people in the streets is a big pet peeve of mine because when I would deliver in the hood, people would never move for you. In fact some people would even move closer to the van and people said they wanted me to hit them for insurance purposes.
@K P how is it ignorant to have to go to the store for groceries, or go visit a relative, or go do laundry, so you have to hit the streets???? make it make sense 🙄
@@ShanesSquirrelShack that might happen SOMETIMES, but everyone in the hood isn’t doing that on a constant basis. just like every person in the suburbs isn’t calling amazon drivers racial slurs.
Respect Charlie you just showing that all the hype you hear about certain cities ain't really what it is, as long as you minding your business you good...
westside chicago has the most dangerous neighborhoods in america, worse than Saint louis or NOLA, where the crime rate is almost equally widespread throughout the city, while in chicago there is a huge difference in crime from there to downtown, north chicago , and the far south
@@ginocashflow6859 not personally but i have read data indicating that eastside nola has lower murder rate than almost all westside chicago hoods like Lawndale or Austin
@@ginocashflow6859 Ok bro 😂 , but maybe you've never been to ws chicago, you would like to know that there isn't only nola in the US, if you search up a bit you'll see what i'm talking about, i'm just reporting facts..
I've been away from Chicago for 26 years now. Truth be told, it was rough back in the 1990s when I used to walk and drive through some of these same streets. But now, after watchin' this video, it almost looks like you drivin' through a "third world" country.
Shit y'all had 900 mf murders in '70 no city has even come close to that number since, even in the crack epidemic. But Im pretty sure you're referring to the abandoned housing and trash everywhere
You did sum dangerous shit man,a lot of those blocks you went down ,ppl was itching to shoot or get active once they seen a random car come down they’re block ,,be safe
To actually see these areas makes you wonder is there any hope for society, because these scenes are growing by leaps and bounds. I just looked at another video of Kensington Street in Philly and that looks worse than these Chicago scenes. The difference is that the Chicago scenes look like you could get hurt, and the Philly scenes looks like death.
What do you notice about the inhabitants of all these places? You know all these places were built entirely by white europeans, right? Then the great migration. Again - what do you notice about these destroyed places?
@@NoahBodze The inhabitants of Kensington in Philly are 90% white. You had better start using your white eye and see what drugs are doing to the white race. As for who built what, it wasn't because black folks couldn't build or would build, it was because of "here it comes" RACISM , and you know this, so cut that out about who built what. Take a moment and research things you use today that was invented by black people and stolen or taken by white people.
@@xtrey19x That's not new, but what will be in the very near future is military patrols on the streets of America in all areas. Martial Law can't work in parts of the country , it will have to be all over.
That's definitely true I'm from the south side and like I said I'm over 50 and it's always been like that for as long as I can remember all the way back in the '70s
Charlie Bo I've been watching your videos for a while now" extremely Fascinating my friend...you take us Places that your average American Never gets too see Close up'............. And sometimes having interviews with some people Society has forgotten" They form gang's for social Structure in their lifestyle Because most Gangsta don't have Father's too Guild then though life All this hardships lands on Mother"

I hv seen lots images and videos all over RU-vid That the high pressure still hanging in the air even in 3rd world you can’t see something like dat at all. I wonder why still not under the ground?
I live out south and work on the west side. bo is showing the worst of it all. lots of fine folks over here and over there. tough on the streets for sure but. lots of people trying really hard to make it. respect that
The clouds and the sky looks so bright and blue in the Midwest sometimes.. compared to now living in the South, idk.. it’s just something about living up North
@@keithjoek9552 no I’m stating what I’ve observed from watching videos here, watching the news, and actually knowing people from the west side of Chicago, I’m from the south side of Chicago. Don’t assume cause you only make an ass out of yourself.
This is a one sided view of Chicago's Southside. They're plenty of decent family oriented neighborhoods as well. Chicago is not all ghetto & gang banging.
@@newport100s6 yeh we all know you are better than everyone because you live in a better place. Clap clap for you g. My Mother and Family stay in a very nice part of Chicago. Chicago is much bigger than the South and Westside of Chicago you crash dummy.
This is a certain caliber/class on the south side of Chicago, however; there are BEAUTIFUL MIDDLE CLASS AND UPPER MIDDLE CLASS NEIGHBORHOODS ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF CHICAGO LIKE: HYDE PARK, CHATHAM, MARYNOOK, PILL HILL, AVALON PARK , BEVERLY, MORGAN PARK, CHESTERFIELD,, EVERGREEN PARK,CALUMET PARK, SOUTH SHORE HEIGHTS, KENWOOD, ETC
I gotta say a lot of these hoods in Chi look and feel like some brazilian hoods I know. That area around Tyquan World pretty much feels like the one I grew up at.
You gotta think though. Even our worst neighborhoods in America are better than a lot of places immigrants come from. There are millionaires that come from places just like this in America. They don’t have any opportunity at all like us.
they are forced to through a whole program of international governmental interference which makes their lives untenable so that they have to give up their countries (making it easier for other invaders to settle in their country ). the people affected here have nowhere else to go. trapped .
You didn't drive East of 63rd and Cottage Grove though. It would ruin the narrative. The University of Chicago has pushed South of 63rd . In less than 5 years all of the Woodlawn Hood will be gone. Even sooner when construction of the Presidential Library is completed.
They will standing out on the perimeter of new building but though!! More opportunity for them to commit crime.. like they've taken over downtown!!! And Hyderabad park
Wish yu coulda named the hoods/blocks yu was riding thru as yu was ridin thru...to ah outta towner like me I kept sayn oh this must be stl...nah this stl..nah this stl...🤦🏽♂️
See how far u get out here with that. Chicago different than alot other cities which I've been all over I mean the mentality fucked up. Atleast Detroit, Philly n nem got morals but niggas down here out this bitch would shoot u, yo mama and gmama in a heartbeat right in from of the police station to💯👌🏽
I’m from Chicago and all this video did was give me anxiety because riding around like this you better know where your going that’s all I’m going to say
Isn’t it amazing how many STOP signs there are in US cities? One every 50m it seems. Haven't they heard about roundabouts or the „right before left“ rule?
@@The_Gallowglass Where ? I have not been back up there in years. I know when I was a kid there was a roundabout in Des Plaines...at least back in the 70's there was.
@@backwardk There's some in the city, small ones at residential intersections. The goofy thing is that they almost always have stop signs, which defeat the purpose. I don't think anyone stops at them anyway. The bigger ones are more out in the suburbs. One that comes to mind is 8 corners in Brookfield. There's one between Des Plaines and Mt Prospect. There's some more I can't think of right now.
Yeah, there's a lot of beautiful homes and buildings in the hoods but they're not taken care of. Same in some of the burbs like Maywood, Bellwood off 290 west of berwyn and other places
Nah man one of the reasons the violence is bad is because you have all these different gangs that Jack Quick mentioned. These different gang families especially when people go insane/renegade can get really bad.
@@CJN2930 that's crazy cause after I posted the comment my cousin was next to me and said the exact same thing you just said. Those are instinct reactions lol
