When I was 18 I went in Montreal, Canada. I was a young guy discovering a lot of things, like everyone of us. And I remember that day when I found this record in a shop. Well... I will never forget the first time I heard this version of Spain. It was literally a travel, I was overwhelmed by so many emotions. I was kinda obsessed by this song, I listened on repeat all the time. On the bus, metro, while walking, every time it was possible. It became the soundtrack of my canadian trip. This song will ever have a special place in my heart. And I agree with most of you, this is the best version of Spain.
Indeed. I thought I was losing it. The CD album version is 5 mins 52. I'm not sure why they cut it, as the CD runtime would still be under the standard 74 min cut off. Odd!
I freaked out on this thing also! Actually started hearing differences from 5:06 onwards. 5:08 ending's top note is different on piano. Anyway, is there a possibility that this could be japan version or something? This is fine jazz album that also sounds nice and hifi. Would be nice to own this version also on a CD. Rest in peace Chick!
My all time favourite version of perhaps the greatest Chick Corea song of all time with Dave Weckl and John Patitucci bringing so much power and energy to the music. Awesome mix of RTF meets the Akoustic Band
I heard the best but the Chick Corea Ekectric Band and here the Acoustic Band is just the perfect chemistry I been listening to this music since 1985 I can’t begin to explain how I lived Chicks music along with Dave and John since then They are my favorite orchestra
