Fast Food is not something I am in to, but if I go on a road trip I will remember the Spicy Chick Fil-A. Because Spice. The spice extends life. The Spice expands consciousness. The Spice is vital to space travel.
I worked for Chick-fil-A for a total of 8 years, and I can definitely attest to it being fresh squeezed! It was the WORST job to have - literally cutting lemons in half and pushing them onto an electric juicer - we would get pulp ALL over our shirts! Also, I think the pickles go well w/ the sandwich because they actually marinate the chicken in pickle juice!
Also, fun fact: I always get extra CFA sauce, so I had saved up over 20 or so, and decided to mail some to my Army friends in Germany and also my missionary friends in Puerto Rico! They had had Chick-fil-A before, but they don't have them there.
😱😱😱😱 they marinate it in pickle juice... frfr??? omg i think u just changed my life lol and quick question.... do they like hold a gun to pple head and force them to be cheery all the time? lol cause holy shit everyone seems to me this automated ball of sunshine lol... and it drives me insane lol... its like whos forcing u to be this happy??? NO ONE is this happy to be at work LMAOOO... i love chickfila but ive always wanted to know that lol. and bless your soul u r the real mvp cause i couldnt do it lol
haha Well, not exactly. It's a Christian-founded business, so they do try to emphasize "second mile service" aka going the extra mile for the customer. It's really the only place I've worked or been that they pretty much do anything and don't charge for it. There were plenty of people behind the scenes that didn't really have a good attitude, but that's why they're BEHIND the scenes. ;)
It's so funny watching somebody eat Chick Fil-A for the 1st time & analyze it like that lol..I've been eating there since I was a kid being that I'm from Georgia Lol. Worst thing about Chick Fil-A is when you crave it on a Sunday !! :( Glad you liked it !! :)
I am from Northern Wisconsin. We don't have Chick Fil-A. But last month I went to Florida. So I had to go. We ordered a bunch of food because for me it was something I had to try. I told the girl that the cows in Wisconsin sent me all the way to Florida just to try their Chicken Sandwich. After completing the order and talking with the girl behind the counter she gave us the whole order for FREE. I couldn't believe it. That was great. The only problem was they wouldn't come back up North with me. Big Love For Chick Fil-A.
I live & breathe chick fil a... I live in Texas. CHICK-FIL-A breakfast... is a must! And chick fil a sauce is life. Their fries you can ask for extra crispy and they'll fry it longer!
I'm a Kansan and chick-fil-a is huge here. It's even on a lot of our college campuses. Chick-fil-a sauce is probably one of my all time favorite sauces.
Cristal Alston It'll definitely be less sweet since one way is mixing 2 sweets and the other is 1 sweet and 1 unsweet. The Lemonade is already so sweet and tart by itself tho that I think it just brings it down to normal.
Emmy I've been watching you for about 2 years back when you would do popin cooking, and I just wanna say I admire you for not changing no matter how many subs you have
I love how you articulate the eating experience, I also love your soothing voice, and that you look so healthy and skinny, without disdaining fast food. Everything seems so balanced with you.
Chick-fil-A probably has the best service of fast food places. I don't care what the guy's politics are, I just like the food and don't mind helping pay the wages of the employees there.
Doug Hershberger Chick-fil-A and Culver's have some serious customer service action going on and I've never been in a dirty store of either company. Impeccable cleanliness, customer service and outstanding food at a fair price from both of them. Both of them go out of their way to make things right if there is ever a mistake.
I don't eat meat or gluten or sugar or eggs or dairy, and yet I watch every single video you put up, lol. it's like watching science projects and you're so calming. When I have a moment away from the kiddos, it's so relaxing to watch you conduct experiments.
Y'all she said right there in the beginning she was doing this so she could create an authentic copycat recipe! Emmy's $12 did not make any extreme difference in their profits, and as a gay Texan who has witnessed their branding chokehold/cult-like following in my state firsthand I can guarantee you that. Before you point your finger at someone else's unethical consumption under capitalism, count how many items of clothing you currently own that were likely made in sweatshops, and how many items in your fridge and pantry that were harvested by underpaid migrant workers in unsafe conditions. Like if you've ever bought a single item from Wal-Mart I don't want to hear about how horrible you think Emmy is for trying two sandwiches and a lemonade, lol.
llama preach. Plus, boycotting has its downfalls: the first people who will get hit by it are the little guys, the minimum wage workers who are working their asses off for money. The CEO will barely feel a thing at this point while the workers will most likely lose their jobs because of low demand.
This argument is silly. I am not single-handedly responsible for keeping everyone employed with my few consumer dollars. There are minimum wage workers busting their asses for ethical companies that I am proud to support, so I choose to use my limited consumer power to keep their jobs safe. Whether the CEO feels it or not, he does not deserve my money and he won't get any of it. If all who opposed his anti-gay agenda did the same, it would hurt him.
No you're not single-handedly responsible, jloubelle. It is your choice to not buy that I'm not arguing with that. But facts are facts: you won't be hurting anybody but the workers. Your argument was if all who opposed his anti-gay agenda didn't buy from the company it would hurt him. I don't believe it will. He already won success for his company with having over 2k locations of his business. Losing a couple of customers in the future isn't going to change the fact he still had a very, very successful business that gave him more than enough money to support his future. But hey man, do what you feel comfortable doing. Not saying what you should and shouldn't do, just that boycotting has its downfalls.
I don't believe that S. Truet Cathy is "anti-gay" in the sense that he "hates" gay people. Read Huffposts article by a gay activist who knows Truet,"Dan and Me: My Coming Out as a Friend of Dan Cathy and Chick-fil-A": www.huffingtonpost.com/shane-l-windmeyer/dan-cathy-chick-fil-a_b_2564379.html The problem is that gay activists have labelled as evil anyone who doesn't agree with them. There are some gay people who are not for gay marriage. Truet is a very decent guy who gives a ton to charity and is almost certainly a lot nicer than the people who label him a "hater and bigot".
As much as I hate this word, Emmy's channel is a "Safe Space", so let's please leave the hate comments on political, sexual, or emotional topics at bay. This review is purely about the food not the company, so take that to someone else's blog if you want to rant.
If you support Chick-fil-a, then you indirectly support conversion therapy for LGBTQ+ youth. Ask yourself if fried chicken (whether or not tasty and convenient) holds a higher value to you than the physical, emotional, and mental health of LGBTQ+ youth. If you answer yes to both statements, then you actively contribute to the dystopia and moral collapse America is quickly approaching (ie profit and materialism over humanity). So yes, food (and corporate America) is political.
ikaruseijin01 you clearly aren't impacted by what the restaurant stands for, so don't tell us, the ones who are, when and what we can object to. I rarely say this, but your privilege is showing.
EH CBunny no it's not I use to work there all chicken is packed frozen in a seasoned marinade. thawed when ready to cook dipped in milk/egg wash and breaded with seasoned breader. no pickle juice anywhere accept packed with actual pickles.
Paul Johnson No no brine just seasoning. the grilled chicken is marinated. the regular chicken is just seasoning I'm aware of what a brine is I make pickles. I've seen copycat recipes they are incorrect.
Love the food, the immaculate restaurants and the service... where else do you hear "my pleasure" to serve you. Next time go in the store to get the full experience.
I work at Chick-fil-A in a Maryland location and the salads are extremely popular and I like them myself they come with any kind of chicken you'd like rather that's grilled chicken or crispy chicken or no chicken at all I think you would enjoy the spicy south west salad or the market salad because it has amazing fresh berries. I love you videos. Also I would suggest avocado line ranch. (Sounds crazy but it's absolutely delicious)
If Chik Fil-A refused to hire or serve gay people, then I'd get upset. The fact that the CEO believes contrary to what I believe isn't enough for me to boycott the franchise. How many times does anyone ask the personal politics of restaurant or grocery store owners? The chicken isn't homophobic, people; it's just chicken. I rarely eat fast food, but CFA is pretty decent. The employees are always friendly, and I do like their waffle fries.
It isn't just about what the CEO believes. It's about him giving millions of dollars to anti-LGBT groups. I'm not going to give my money to a company that's going to funnel it to a group that hates me and people like me. I don't care what one person believes. I care about the harm they do because of that belief. It ain't just chicken.
The company doesn't give the money there. The CEO does with his private money and it's about three times removed from the organizations he actually donates to. And if you're worried about that, then don't buy gas, don't support half the things you do because at some point they all tie back into the middle-east.
augustandjune so I work at Chick-fil-A and my sister is openly gay and everyone knows it as well as my manager is gay like drag queen and my owner and operator is okay with it. Chick-fil-A as a franchise doesn't care what race or gender or relationship is we just want people to enjoy our food and feel comfortable when they come to our restaurant. My whole family works and breaths Chick-fil-A. Just cause one person says it doesn't mean everyone goes off of it. We are not all owned by corporate we are mostly a franchise so each is run and hires differently. I have worked personally for 2 years at Chick-fil-A and my aunt is a manager at another one and every few days we get people who yell at us for what one person has said but yet many of our team members are openly gay and no one cares people are people it's a job and that's that.
What has happen to Emmy's comment section as of lately, it used to be so pleasant and yet there is so much negativity with her steak, now this, it's so disappointing.
I noticed you said the lemonade doesn't taste fresh squeezed, but I can assure you it is 😂 My brother works at Chick-fil-A and they squeeze lemons on the daily! Also, if you want it watered down you can ask for it. I mix tea with lemonade for an Arnold Palmer.
For what it's worth, Chik Fil-A in Orlando did open on a Sunday and donated food to people waiting to give blood and law enforcement officers after the shooting at Pulse night club last year, and being closed on Sunday has been a long standing policy of theirs. They were one of several businesses that did so.
I live a mile from one, always a line around the building extends into the Walmart parking lot,but they are fast as lightning filling the orders, and they are closed Sundays to give their workers time with the family ☺️
I've grown up with Chic Fil A around the Philadelphia area and think they're fantastic. I love the nuggets with the Polynesian sauce, which is a little like duck sauce from Chinese food. My only gripe is that every time I'm hankering for them it turns out to be a Sunday and they're closed on Sundays.
I live in Georgia so you know Chick fil A is everywhere. My favorite is the original breakfast biscuit with egg. Sweet, soft biscuit with the crunchy tangy chicken and fluffy egg on top. Yummmm. Their superfood side is also very good if you don't want fries.
hey emmy i love your vids i am a gay man and to all the lgbtq community ffs its a first taste video not a political statement get over it you silly social justice warriors keep emmys videos politics free she is amazing and we want the comments section to reflect her videos friendly and full of fun xxxx ps emmy your fab
RECIPE IDEA!!!!!!!!! "Sitting in my car, talking to myself" 😂😂😂 Love you Emmy!!!! Will be sending you a taste test assortment from the state of Kansas!!! Also, you should make icecream bread. Combine 1 quart of ANY flavor of icecream (room temp) to 1 1/2 cups of self rising flour. Mix well , place in greased loaf pan and bake @350 for 35-40 mins. YUMMY!!!!!!!
Chick fil A is my favorite restaurant. We have one in our local mall and once a week, I go down there to do stuff, and I always stop at chick fil a for dinner. U should definitely try their chicken nuggets. They r the best.
IT NEVER FAILS that you crave chic-fil-a on the Lord's day, the one day they are closed. I am watching this at 4 am and thinking, "oh, I'll get that for lunch today" which I only ever think on a Sunday!!! Lol.
Chick-fil-a is all about the different sauces Emmy! I love the Polynesian, Honey Mustard, Garlic Herb Ranch, and the Buffalo! I make a little tasting of all their sauces basically lol. And get the frosted coffee! It's a coffee and ice cream blended together and it's so good!!!
wow emmy i cant believe how spot on you are with the flavor of the CFA sauce. When i first had it i thought it was honey mustard but the people at CFA told me it has bbq flavoring in it.
OMGGGG I can't believe Chick Fil-A isn't a thing up there. It is my favorite fast food.....it might only be a piece of chicken, 2 pickles, and a bun but it's THE BEST piece of chicken, 2 pickles and a bun you'll EVER eat!!! lol =}
I always order a #1 extra pickle, lettuce tomato, no cheese with three garlic herb ranch sauces and a sweet tea!! U haven't experience the craze until you've entered a CFA in Florida!
From Texas and I looooove chik-fil-a!! Breakfast and all 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 love the chik-fil-a sauce and sriracha sauce! And, always gotta have extra pickles on my sandwich 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I love how articulately you describe fast food. I usually just scarf down 3 sandwiches without breathing and then I come to my senses like what happened I blacked out
Chik-fil-a started out in the shopping malls back in the 80's before going to free standing restaurants....trust me, you crave the sandwiches and no matter how crowded they are, YOU WILL WAIT FOR YOUR FOOD !!! They are closed on sundays. I get mine with extra pickle and I use the "honey mustard" or the "chik-fil-a" house sauce. Fantastic salads now, try the southwest salad with chicken....yumm yummm
Live in Georgia home of chick fil a and knew Samuel Truett through mutual friends from church (please no hate, besides his homophobic remarks he was a very kind man. he was an old fashioned southerner what do you expect? we weren't really surprised it's common for the older people here to think a certain way that doesn't fit with the ever changing world) there's a cfa on every stop in my county and if you're ever hungry and want something filling and fast we always go to Cfa that or American deli. I suggest you get the spicy delux with pepper jack cheese it's my fave
I love to sub. fruit for the fries. this is the only place around me that I've found that doesn't put cantaloupe in there mixed fruit. (i'm allergic to cantaloupe) . Emmy your description of the food on this one is spot on. great vid!
Regarding the lemonade, Chick-fil-A is the single largest purchaser of Sunkist lemons in the world. Lemons are squeezed at each individual location daily to make the lemonade, which consists of 3 ingredients: fresh lemon juice, pure cane sugar and water. They also have a specialty drink called Frosted Lemonade that you should really try. It's simply a blend of their "IceDream" dairy treat and lemonade. The silky smooth texture makes me think of a lighty lemon, and not too sweet, drinkable cheesecake! You should give it a try!
I love their lemonade but I like it watered down as well because if I drink it as is I end up getting heartburn which is a big no. I'm happy you enjoyed one of our southern comforts!
I used to really love their food and admittedly have been a couple times since all the controversy. I grew up in a small town and what really upset me was that a few days after the CEO made anti gay comments they had chick-fil-a appreciation day which had cars in line all the way out onto the highway. Thousands of customers that day and for weeks to follow. People were supporting his comments because they felt the same way. I remember thinking the whole week, "do people really hate us that much?" I did read recently that they stopped donating to antigay groups. I don't know if that's true or not, but it's too little too late for me. I have a hard time supporting a company that I feel is (or was) so against me having basic human rights. Anyway, none of this is your fault or problem. Just felt like sharing. I have nothing but love for you and your videos as always. I don't think you have a prejudiced bone in your body!
Registered Hoe what did u expect from the highly religious ceo? Just because of the beliefs of the CEO doesn't mean the whole company and the people working for them feel the same way. The one here in my town even has gay employees working there so what does that say? The CEO is highly religious and truly believes in his bible so his views on being gay totally makes sense. Everyone always blames the people for the way they think but it's because of the bible why people have these beliefs. So basically your upset with their religion. Just how it is!
let the poor woman live she's just eating some chicken?? i'm gay and i know there's no harm in this? i get what the company does but emmy is literally just trying the chicken so she can make videos for US! she does it for us, i'm sure she didn't go to chick fil a bc she hates gay people lmao. it's just food, shes just eating food, leave her alone. she even said on her instagram story she doesn't agree with the company's beliefs and i think we all know emmy isn't homophobic, she's a literal angel and we all know there was no harm intended with this video, so please stop making something out of nothing!!!
My previous co-workers lived for Chik-Fil-A. Someone had a baby shower at work. One of the Management decided to bring two, 100 piece chicken trays from CFA. People went crazy obsessed for it!
Chick Fil-A reminds me of my growing up years. I lived on the east coast and every time I went to the mall we would eat there. I remember the samples of chicken that the workers would have on a tray enticing people to eat there. Its nostalgic for me. We finally got a chick Fil-A store here in Washington and I have been there a few times since they opened. The chicken tasted exactly as I remembered it. I think it is the best fast food chicken sandwich out there. I get mine with mayo and extra pickles.
I prefer the grilled chicken sandwich which is really what Chick-Fil-A became known for. The breaded chicken sandwiches could be found pretty much at any chicken or burger restaurant, but few restaurants were serving grilled chicken sandwiches when Chick-Fil-A introduced them. It was this sandwich that changed the Chick-Fil-A landscape in the 90s.
I feel like I'm the only person who actually does not like Chik-fil-a at all... Emmy, if you come to CT you need to go to Duchess. It's a chain fast food restaurant only in CT. Get the chicken sandwich there! Truly fresh and tastes great :)
Krystiana Estiler You're not alone. Never liked their food. My grandma used to buy it for us when she took us to the mall as kids. I would refuse to eat it so she ended up not taking me along LOL
Krystiana Estiler I'm with you, I've tried it before and the original chicken sandwich tasted just too sweet for my palette. I'm not much for fast food, either.
Okay so some if you are pressured because Chick-fil-A doesn't affiliate with gays or something I'm not really sure but if you watch Emmy and respect her please do not bring unnecessary problems to her account. She was only reviewing their food.
Emmy, if you're reading this I heard the key to a good DIY Chick-fil-A recipe is to brine the chicken in dill pickle juice. Also, they use varying amounts of powdered sugar in the flour mixture for the breading. The sugar and dill are what gives their chicken its signature flavor. Love your videos by the way. 💖
I've never worked at ChickFila but I know I had a friend who worked there and said the lemonade is just lemons they juice, water, and sugar. Honestly ChickFila Lemonade is my go to, I love it so much!
I am bisexual myself and a huge supporter of lgbt+ rights .. but I will throw DOWN given the option to get chick fil a it tastes so good lmao also you need to try the Polynesian sauce!! So good with the waffle fries.
As a former employee of chick-fil-a I can promise you Emmy , it is fresh squeezed. At a busy location it takes anywhere from 2-5 hours of lemon squeezing a day to keep up with demand.
I personally find it very sad that people have taken such offense to this tasting. Emmy didn't not offer and political stance on anything. She simply wanted to try something new to her and she did. From what I saw and heard, she rather liked the food. Emmy said that she wanted to try and and also to see if she could make a copycat version of the sandwiches on her own. Hardly seems like she took sides to me. If you don't like it, don't watch...
I'm from Canada and just recently had the opportunity to try Chick fil a while i was in Virginia for a wedding.. I know people love it, my boyfriend especially loves it, but i thought it was pretty horrible. I'd never had pickles or cheese on a chicken sandwich before so it was an odd experience. Waffle fries were good though!
WadeShoe lol dill-ey, I wouldn't notice that. The exaggerated silliness at the end of some of her videos kinda bother me too. Because I saw that she knows someone liked it. And it just feels exaggerated to me. But I liked it better when it was random, rather then just done so people are happy.
GeneTonics I know for sure that colab would be less awkward than the one she did with Ken Domik. That was just cringey - and Emmy was not the one to make it that way.
in high school they used to have free chick fil a breakfast sandwiches every other tuesday if you got there early enough ☺️. the biscuit is SOO good compared to the bread. definitely try it next time. i'm also partial to buffalo mixed with ranch as sauce for my fries!
Oh my lord. I've lived in Atlanta, Georgia since I was 1 year old and Chik-Fil-A is basically a religion here! For those who don't have access to CFA, they are always closed on Sundays because they are a Christian company. So my social media is usually covered in friends and family dying for their Chik-Fil-A fix on Sundays because legend has it that you want Chik-Fil-A the most on Sundays!
