All chicken eggs should be comprised of the same things, but with varied levels of nutrients. You'll find the taste is the same across the board, but you may have some hens that forage more and have darker yolks than those who are strictly eating feed alone.

@@MeyerHatchery Although I do want to ask what is the egg production of your Polish chickens I have seen some people saying 70 a year and some claiming 250 a year

Thanks for your question! Our Polish varieties have a production rate between 2 and 5 eggs per week.

Hi Mattie! Each breed is different, but most bantams lay between 4-5 eggs per week.

@@MeyerHatchery Thank you. Cause we're planning to get 3 or 4 and that will be more than enough eggs for us. Do you know if it's better to put a dummy egg in their nest to keep them from picking their eggs and show them where to lay? and which are the best bantams to get ?

Having fake eggs is a great way for curious pullets to learn where they should be laying eggs. As far as which bantams are best? They're all amazing. Take a look at the color eggs they lay and let that help you decide which little ones to bring home!

@@mattieclark5235 If I may add some information. If you get bantams, you may want more than 4 hens, as they all lay a small egg. They are roughly 1/2 the size of a regular egg from a full size hen. Bantams of standard fowl tend to lay slightly larger eggs and are more prolific than the true bantams. Most bantams are great flyers and because they are smaller than their counterparts do not suffer extreme cold well and have a higher metabolism.
