The best brooder is a hen. I had a hen hatch out a dozen chicks and I haven't done a thing. They have made it through freezing weather and lots of rain. Not sure why the hen went broody in fall but those chicks are going to be some tough chickens😂
I've been checking out your clips since months and honestly it's great to watch and listen, I like that your straight to the point! I grew up with many chickens and know a bit myself but still you have great advice! I'd like to add that (for me personally) the best way to raise chicks from eggs is ones they hatched and ready to move to the brooder I put a 8 liter bottle of hot water out of the sink there. In the start they lay on a distance from the bottle and move closer and closer as it slowly cools down. The first 1.5 weeks I change the water to hot water 3 times a day. After that 2 times a day and after week 3.5 only 1 time before going to sleep. It works perfectly fine and it's very safe and energy saving. I do have to add that it's a warmer climate of mostly above 24 degrees Celsius in the day and I can imagine in colder climates you should change the bottle a bit more often. Keep doing what your doing , im a fan 👍👍
