Chicken Changezi
Ingredients:
For Chicken Marination:
900 gms Chicken (thigh & drumstick)
2 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
Salt to taste
2 heaped tbsp Beaten Curd
1 tsp Turmeric powder
½ tsp Degi red chili powder
½ tsp Coriander powder
For Onion Masala:
Oil for shallow fry
4 medium Onions, sliced
6-7 Cashew Nuts
1 tsp Degi red chili powder
½ tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp Coriander powder
Salt to taste
For Cooking Chicken:
2-4 tbsp Oil Used To Fry Onions
Marinated chicken
For Chicken Changezi:
2 tbsp Oil Used To Fry Onions
1 no. Black Cardamom
2-4 no. Cloves
1 inch Cinnamon stick
1 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
1 no. Green chili (less spicy & broken into half)
1 cup fresh Tomato puree
Prepared Onion Masala
2 tbsp Beaten Curd
1 ½ tsp Coriander powder
1 tsp Deghi red chili powder
½ tsp Cumin powder
Cooked Chicken
⅓ cup Water
For Garnish:
Coriander
Instructions:
Marinate the chicken with ginger garlic paste, salt, curd, turmeric powder, deghi red chili powder, and coriander powder. Set aside.
Shallow fry sliced onions until translucent. Fry cashew nuts separately. Grind them with spices to form a coarse paste.
Fry marinated chicken until tender. Set aside.
In the same pan, add fried onion oil and spices.
Cook ginger garlic paste and green chili, then add tomato puree.
Once cooked, add prepared onion masala and spices.
Mix well, then add curd and continue cooking.
Add cooked chicken to the mixture, followed by water.
Cook for a few minutes until flavors blend.
Garnish with coriander and serve hot with roti.
