Oh! Foxglove and Hollyhock, what a delightful pair of ladies! They are prone to a bit of gossip,so be careful what you share with them,as they will cluck the latest news to the flowers, frogs, stones and fey! They will! They mean no harm, but their beaks, well they can’t resist a bit of juicy gossip!
I moved from mainland to Tassie many years ago and there is very little that I miss... but the sound of singing magpies! Oh, that sound is music to me. There are magpies in Tassie but they are not common and definitely none in my little corner of this glorious island. So sending big thanks from Tassie for letting me visit a while in your gorgeous garden.
Ohh the magpies warbling is one of my most treasured Aussie sounds. I felt the same after travelling abroad for three years, the sound reminds me of 'home' 🌹xx
Thank you!! Oh, I love your name - I feel like gardens are the best examples of manifestation! You first imagine it, and then it comes to life. A metaphor for life, really xx
For so definitely include the black hen poem- how many moms, aunts, grandmas will adore it, happily they will relay this to children who love how it rolls off the tongue. Made me smile in the memory. Elizabeth
Hello, yes its sweet isnit,is it, goes back a long way, I remember it from childhood and sang thr poem to my children too.we have chickens too.such lovely creatures. Take care.
I spent 6 months living in Australia. I loved it and hearing the sound of the birds brought back so many wonderful memories. I adore your channel. Im currently binge watching your videos. Blessed be my new friend😊
@The Rambling Rose you are right! I close my eyes and I was right back there again and it was magical! I'm really enjoying your Channel! Thank you for sharing your gifts with us🤗
Oh yay! So we have one vote for 'Hickety Pickety' in the book. It's pretty cute, isn't it? And yes, my Mum is incredibly talented. It's so warm too - and it kind of works perfectly with the theme of adopting the pace of nature, because I'm sure it took a LOT of patience to knit. Thanks so much for watching, Erica x
I am so happy to have found your channel and really enjoy watching your wonderful videos. They are so inspiring! Thank you so much! Your garden is just amazing and your drawings warm my heart! Much love from Germany to Australia 😊
Oh yay Alice, you gorgeous little wildflower! Glad you are enjoying my videos. I have so many ideas for future episodes. Thanks so much for watching xx
I just found your channel. Such a sweet video. Your chicken cottage is darling and you will have very happy chickens. I love your beautiful, whimsical video.
Thank you so much Barby 🥰 Beautiful and whimsical is exactly what I’m trying to create. And yes, they are happy little chickens. Their eggs are soooo tasty!
This is your first video I've watched and I plan to watch ALL of them after work today because you just radiate calm, peace and genuine happiness 😊 We're in the middle of a rather cold and damp autumn here and I think your videos together with knitting, cup of a nice strong coffee, and the crackling fire is the best plan for a rainy Friday evening 😊❤️
Oh Lucie, that's so heartwarming to hear. I'm so glad that a sense of peace and calm comes across in my videos. Knitting, coffee and a crackling fire sound just perfect. I hope you enjoy the other videos - I'm working on a new one this weekend too xx
@@theramblingrose_ honestly - your videos are just what's needed in this gloomy weather ^_^ Have fun making the videos, there are many people who really appreciate them ^_^ xx
Kathleen, how sweet! Thank you, I will definitely add the little poem - everyone seems to love it! Your support means the world, thank you for subscribing 😚
How beautiful. I love your chooky cottage and garden. I've been hoping to get some chooks for my garden so I feel rather inspired now!! You have such a serene garden. Thank you!!
Thank you so much Dianne. I actually had to give it a good clean yesterday and sprinkled some lemon scented eucalyptus under the wood shavings. You will love having chooks, they have such cheeky personalities and it's so rewarding when you collect eggs. What breeds are you thinking of?
I’ve always wanted chickens but worried it would be to much to handle. This little chicken cottage just makes me want chickens even more 😭😍 your videos are absolutely beautiful xxx
Taking care of my girls has been one of my greatest joys since going 'off grid' and starting the permaculture journey. They really don't take much to care for - check out Milkwood Permaculture's fact sheet and video on keeping chickens 🌹❤
Can’t believe this was a month ago. I’ve just been painting the sign on the door of my coop with my chickens names on it 😍 manifested in the most magical way and has even ended up bringing me and my neighbours closer because everyone on in the whole street is excited about the chickens that will be here next week xxx
Making these videos helps me see the beauty and the romance in the little things, even when things can be hard in the 'muggle' realm. I can look back on my flowers and projects and art and remember them fondly.
Wow! This beautiful video of yours was an absolute gem to find! Your garden, your home, your animal friends...so much to love! Such talent and beauty - I'm looking forward to more 🙂
Oh wow! Thank you so much for such lovely feedback. I'm working on a new video right now featuring more garden, home and animal friends. Stay tuned, Georgina xx
Love watching your video,s .I,m happiest sitting on the verandah with a cuppa, watching my little world go by . Feel content living out in the middle of the paddock with old garden around with fruit trees and my veggie paths ..Recycled timber and items making a , Bali garden . Cottage garden and roses. Big old pine trees, around the house ,and shelter belts for animals . The birds ain't scared of me and come really close ,have a friend Willy wag tail that's chats away too me. Will come looking for me when I,m in the garden .Will know when I,m in the lounge and sit on a post 4 ft away and start up ..like where are you. Feel so blessed .Love my crafts quilting ,making bags , Crothet double 8ply rugs too keep family and friends warm . Love making macrame hangers again for me and my 3 adult kids . I have MS and days I do too much and than have too stop for 3 . Yes I hurt but mindset has a lot too do with how you get through and finding creative things too do get me through . Was so lucky too met an amazing man who has become my boyfriend .In his garden loves growing stawberries the best and some veggies . Love recycling too. He lost his leg below knee 3 and a half years ago and has a leg fitted . No stopping him either till he can't for a,day or too. I put my hand too my heart that he is in my life .Been a year and a half . I get on with his 3 adult kids and he gets o n with my 3 adult kids ,he fitted in so good . Always a scary thing If that's going work. We are both in our mid 60,s and giggles like kids . I think sometimes the world has gone somewhat crazy and people's wants and expections ummm come back down too earth .
Jenifer, thank you so much for this truly beautiful comment and for sharing your story. My favourite part is that you have found your strawberry-growing garden companion who makes you giggle like you are 16, even in your 60s! Isn't love grand?? Watch this space for an episode coming up that I think you'll both love... on that very topic 🌹xx
Thank you so much, David. It's true, 2 years is a short time for a cottage garden and a tiny home to take shape, all the pro gardeners say it takes at least a decade to see the real magic. This will be my 3rd spring and I've got so many ideas!
Ohhh I love the fall season. Happy Mabon, yolanda! There's so much cosy, witchy fun to be had at this time of year. Do you have lovely fall leaves where you are?
I've just found your channel and it's such a great inspiration!! Love your videos and can't wait to see what you come up with 🧡 Lots of love from Brazil 😘
Oh, what a great question - let me think! Right now, I think I love 'Eraldo Di Paolo' hot pressed watercolour paper the best. And yes, isn't the coop adorable! I could seriously live in one if they came in 'my size' aha!
Such a lovely video! You are a wondrous witch and I am a grateful wall flower on the journey. For the poem to put in your book I was curious what your chickens might be thinking. Perhaps they have something poetic they want to say and contribute to the art too!
What a great suggestion! I shall have a sit down with the girls and get their creative input. I have a feeling they will just try to make me paint an entire book of corn, though! They have a slight obsession with that vegetable ;)
@@theramblingrose_ hahaha, loves expression through corn with a poem from your childhood sounds great 👌🏼 I wonder if they would like a corn scented cologne/perfume 😂
@@theramblingrose_ probably not magpies - we have them here in Italy and they sound nothing like that 😜 maybe kookaburras - the other ones I’ve never even heard of 😜 but it sure sounds lovely over there 🥰❤️
Ah,at 9:40 ,you were holding an earthworm. That’s Lenny! He’s a good guy,you met him once before when you were tiny. Yeah,he has a penchant for collecting bits of lichen and moss, keeps his finest examples in a book of pressings, which is odd,as he has no eyes. A connoisseur of the wormiest order,he made you a thimble of Sphagnum moss tea, which you very politely accepted, and choked it down,as it was not to your particular taste.
@@nikkimurphy5810 That's wonderful Nikki - I'm more than happy to share any advice and tips on tiny living. The first is - storage!! If not in the house itself, then plan for a large garden shed/garage. I use mine to store things like my vacuum cleaner, winter clothes and blankets, craft supplies and bicycle... I actually wish I had built an underground cellar for preserves and kitchen appliances. All the very best with it x
Oh goodness! I am not sure, Jill... would it be a crimson rosella, a kookaburra... a magpie? Or a cockatoo perhaps? You'd have to give me the timestamp and I'll try to work it out 🌹xx
I have so many garden goals and outdoor projects but I need the sunshine to get them done! I really am a rose, just like my fae name. I need full sun to bloom, am terribly old fashioned, and fight back stronger after life's hard pruning.🌹
My Mum says that little rhyme all the time when she sees my chooks, however she says Higgldy piggildy my black hen…I wonder if this is the QLD version 🙃
Ooh I think that Queenslanders put a special spin on everything ☺ My Mum was born in Ayr so I'm fully aware of this phenomenon! Thanks for watching, Amanda xx
