Rip brother you did such good things. Remember this family, him sharing his knowledge and the love you saw in his videos. All memories of him are of just goodness and love.
I didn't know Mr. Chaplin died, very sorry to hear this bad news. My sincere thoughts and prayers to his family. He left a legacy of greatness, Rest In Peace Jack.
These days, the cooking channels are oveesaturated with young egotistical, angry feminists, who demand incredible production values in their videos in exchange for their mediocre culinary skills. I'd rather watch and learn from Daddy Jack...
The way he leans over and actually enjoys the morsels in his mouth as he looks over at his creation ( after admitting not having one in a while).... This man is what food is about
I’m Canadian. Love this Chef’s cooking. He knows his stuff and is willing to share his expertise. Thank you Sir! I would be honoured to eat at your Restaurant. God bless
I've watched this video about 20 times over the years. I've also watched countless chefs grill and fry steak, but this one is always my favorite. Feels like home with Daddy Jack.
It’s a lot of prep. We use to make a similar item at a place I worked at. It was done with a piece of veal. Well the veal was already flattened, seasoned, and breaded by a prep cook. They would leave a stack for us during service. So we would get an order and fry it in the pan, finish in the oven. Then serve over a bed of veggies. Plate looked amazing and only took us about 7 Mins. It’s all about the prep work.
I disagree with you; skinny or not skinny chefs---all of them will cook healthy and unhealthy foods! We can choose to eat healthy or unhealthy foods, but if we eat what they cook and don't work it off through daily regular exercise, sooner or later we all become fat!! To help us stay healthy we should chew our food slowly, eat less salt, less pastries and ice cream, less fried foods, less pizza, drink small amounts of alcohol, and sodas, or fruit juices, drinks lots of water regularly, and do some walking, or bicycling or some kind of exercise daily. We all have to have some self-control or we will get fat and stay fat.
@Amp Blaster bro, cubed is tenderized with a mallet or a machine. It doesn't turn the beef into ground beef. You can't be a butcher being that ignorant.
@Amp Blaster Cube steak is a cut of beef, usually top round or top sirloin, tenderized and flattened by pounding with a meat tenderizer, or by using an electric tenderizer. The name refers to the shape of the indentations left by that process. This is the most common cut of meat used for the American dish chicken fried steak en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cube_steak 😂😂😂
Amp Blaster stop doubling down when you’re obviously wrong. An electric tenderizer doesn’t grind meat, that’s what a meat grinder does. You’re probably lying about being a butcher but if you aren’t you should be fired for your massive ignorance.
One of my regrets in this life is that I did not find this channel until after Daddy Jack had died. His life, his cooking, and the memories, both old and newly created, will live on through these wonderful videos that captured a moment in time. If i had known about him earlier i would have made a pilgrimage to eat at his establishment. Truly a memorable Chef!!!
Made this today, with our homegrown grass fed angus rib eye and homemade french fries. Took left over sausage gravy and deglazed the skillet for the meat and fries. It was awesome. Love to watch this man cook.
That sounds Delicious, Richard. Homegrown grass fed Angus - doesn't get any better than that. Become a Member Of "Cooking With The Blues" www.patreon.com/CookingWithTheBlues For Blackened Seasoning, CD and other Memorabilia visit: www.daddyjacksnewlondon.com
Howdy from Texas!! Ribeye is the way to go for Chicken Fried Steak. Your gravy was spot on too Daddy Jack!! Throw on a side of mashed tators and I'd be in heaven!! Outstanding dish sir!! Cheers, Troy
@mikedoesseo cube steak the cheapest cut of beef is what is used for chicken fried steak around is probably the highest quality of steak you tenderize it you beat the snot out of it use a tenderizing mallet and then you put your seasoning on it and then your egg wash and blah blah blah but you never ever use a high-quality piece of meat that's for the rich people and it's never been done like that until recently. It is a sham
T-ROY COOKS that’s one comment someone made to you now gone from me seeing as I reported for hate speech. Sorry TROY you took the time to give your opinion and some some scumbag comes on and makes the comments he did, was disgusting and just a keyboard warrior. Hope he gets kicked off.
Daddy Jack! Thank you for this video! I took your advice and used Ribeyes and it was amazing! Love your videos, they have sparked a meal cooking fire within me and i now really enjoy cooking new and tasty recipies. You are much appreciated!
From the comments I gather that Daddy Jack has gone ahead, but he lives in these recipes on YT. They are so authentic and inspiring with no nonsense and no pretensions, all done in real time. They’ve reached around the world and still getting us cooking years later. Thank you very much.
I just found this channel and I can’t get enough of it!!! The Lobster Bisque was beyond compare. My 84 y/o Mother and our big Irish family insist that I make this every other Sunday now. This cooking is the real deal and I can not thank you enough!!!
That guy eats that every day .... hes only 25 years old 🤣 But seriously, it looks great ... and I'd love to try his out ... never lose your sense of humor folks.... bon appetit!
the chef is not 26 years old... if hes 26 years holy fuck its time to re-asses your fucking life..the guy loooks liek two seconds away from breathing life support...dont fuckin tell me the cook is 26 years old i dont believe u
@@herts9999 He is living on the eternal throne made of fry lard and bacon grease.1000 big macs are sacrificed everyday to his fat support system so we can bask in his holy fatfullness.
Using a better cut of meat such as ribeye is brilliant. I am a Texas lady and I have only used the cheaper cuts of meat for chicken fried steak. The dish was created to improve cheap cuts. Anytime I've had ribeye steak, I cooked it plain with just salt and pepper and a reduced wine pan sauce. I will use a ribeye next time for chicken fried steak because of Daddy Jack and ENJOY life. Chicken fried chicken is also NUMMY. Don't forget the gravy and mashed potatoes.
OMGosh! I miss a great chicken fried steak from TX! I've made them at home but they didn't taste like I remember. This recipe looks like it will be perfect. Thanks.
I appreciate this level of instruction. No frills, no bull, no smoke and mirrors. Just good ole fashioned cookin, the way its been passed down to family for generations. 10/10 for me for every bit of love passed on. Blessed be your day. And by god be safe
Glad to see that you pan-fry your chicken fried steak. Too many places in Texas deep fry them and completely overcook them. I enjoy your videos, chef. As an aside, I still save bacon grease to cook with. What was good for my grandparents is good for me!
@Lloyd Bonafide NOT YOU AGAIN! I dropped by to give this sensible man a thumbs up for his good taste and who do I see? So I follow the link... and it's a video that says, "... the recipe is likely a variation of German schnitzel from the 1800s." WHAT'S WITH ALL YOUR BULLSHIT ABOUT IT BEING INVENTED BY COWBOYS? WHAT'S WITH ALL YOUR BULLSHIT ABOUT SCHNITZEL BEING CRAPPY PIG MEAT? Maybe you should have watched your little video before you started bloviating under T-ROY COOKS' comment! But wait! The dumbest shit of all is yet to come! Get ready folks, it's a doozy! Marty Clemmons says, pan-fry good deep-fry bad. You say "Deep fried is best by far." and then link a video (from the Texas Country Reporter of all places) showing the "Top 3 Chicken fried steaks in Texas." But the winner did not deep fry!!!!! Did you even watch the video???
Sam Shambles you must be a libtard...this is a VARIATION of schnitzel!! The Germans were making schnitzel WAY before there were cowboys...get a life dumbass.
watching your videos is like discovering a hidden how-to menu on life. Like discovering that a tool you've owned for 11 years-but-didnt-know-what-to-do-with-it is the most valuable tool you own. Like a shoe that finally fits perfectly after years in the closet and years evolving. keep doing what you do. I'm so glad you stuck with the videos for all these years, hope to see you soon!
@@robertbalibrera2583 I'm also in a tight budget and I cook this kind of dish once a month or to celebrate something. Luckily chicken is not that expensive here where I live. We can get enough ingredients for 2 portions of that for around 5 US dollar in a supermarket here.
Congratulations Daddy Jack you took the national dish of Texas and made it better. I wish my cardiologists could see this I think he would understand me better rest in peace old friend
Howdy; Your amazing chief, this is one of the finest examples of cooking a chicken fried steak I have ever seen. I'am coming to your restaurant for your chicken fried steak.
Jimmy R., please allow me to correct your grammar for easier readability. Howdy, you're an amazing chef. This is one of the finest examples of cooking chicken fried steak I have ever seen. I'm coming to your restaurant for your chicken fried steak.
@@nothingbutaname........1618 Yup again chicken frys are the poor mans steak. Why they use cheap cube steak for it. If you can buy a rib eye,eat a rib eye mid rare with nice sides. Don't cook it to death.
It is a necessity to taste food before served as a chef, but as I told my daughter , 9 at that time , is , if you make the meal , it is your privilege to taste it first , and if you are pleased , serve it with honor .
Yessss Daddy Jack. Your cooking could bring world peace. I think u could make a piece of leather taste like heaven. Thumbs up! Please keep the videos coming!
I have recently found also a kitchen device named "Fast Cutlet Maker V2" that flattens the meat and form a nice squared pattern on it. Its very popular in Poland.
When you see someone take a bite and they nod their head up and down, you know the food is legit. When you see someone take a bite and they shake their head side to side, you know the food is legendary
