But they write numbers the same way they do in the U.S.. 1 is written like "1". There are kana/kanji for things like the word "thousand", but for things like phone numbers, money and amounts they use "normal" numbers.

Furthermore, writing room numbers in kanji is just impractical. It makes more sense to write the number in a numerical system that matches the ones on the phone, making it easier for the guest. In overall, the “trip to Japan” part of this special, in my opinion, is the weakest part.

I'm pretty sure Japanese don't use Kanji to write numbers like that. They just use Arabic Numerals, especially for Hotels.

There is chicken at EVERY convenience store with 24/7 opening times, LITERALLY. Unless you are residing in an "Inaka" area, in which case, may lord have mercy on your sorry AND chickenless ass. (As you will have to wait until shortly before lunchtime for their next charge of freshly fried goods) Or of course you could go to a restaurant that serves some sort of chicken. 😅

Same thing happened in thiland , we didn't have communication problems cause they knew english and so did we but when my dad found a desi person he was so happy (he generally primarily speaks in urdu and punjabi but knows english too) he talked to the indian guy running thenresteraunt for like a good 10 minutes and did the same when we met another indian guy at the airport it was kinda hilarious lmao

Line line dash, cross, house. Idk the line line dash. Could be 3 or 2 with a dash next to it. Cross is 10. House could be 4 or 5? Probably 5 since 4 is more of a square than a house. So his room was either 2-14/ 314 or 2-15/315. Probably 315 since that makes the most sense.
