I agree with you Ms Brenda; too many parents are catering to their kids by asking them what they want - in our days we ate what our parents gave us as they never, ever asked us what we want to eat. They just told us breakfast, dinner or supper is ready and we just ate, and told them it was delicious and thank you mommy.😊
I am a charter member of the "Chicken Liver Lover Ladies Club". It is a group (about 10) of friends who all love fried chicken livers. We meet at Peggy's cabin on the top of a mountain in North Carolina once a year usually in September. Peggy fries the livers, others bring side dishes (mashed pots, fresh green beans- half runners, sliced tomatoes and apple cake for desert). Such a good meal and fun to be with great friends!!

When I was in college, my room mates ate all of my food one day so I went out and bought chicken livers and buttermilk, no problem after that and I had a feast!

A few punctures of a fork..helps the popping and I use an out door BBQ tongs that keep me at distance. I lived in miami when miami was quite southern..I'd go to Mccrory's and they fried chicken and chicken livers all day long..we would buy a cup of them and then add catsup or mustard..walgreen's a block away served collards and corn bread..mac and cheese..southern comfort food....those were good days..I'm now in New England ..and get a hankering for chicken livers with fries and an orange ice cream soda and Woolworth's recipe cheesecake..delicious...
I'm about to cook me some for my little foster dog who I just adopted! Well not so little at 50 lbs. But when I got him on Nov 14th of 2021, he was only 39 lbs! When I got him he was a hospice rescue! Ain't nothing hospice about this sweet boy now! That a bunch of home cooking didn't turn him around. I may have 1 or 2 myself for sure. Thank you for showing me how it's done. My boy's name is Benjamine and he is a Treeing Walker Coonhound. He is his own species thats for sure stubborn as all get out. Never been in the house so he's not quite house broke yet. But he is warm now at least. Sure got spoiled fast though like a little child screaming that he's hungry, he will sit and just start howling and baying out of the clear blue and is he loud. He's another whole class of dog I tell ya. But at 15 yrs old I can spoil him rotten for the rest of his life.
We love chicken hearts our favorite. Fry in a cast iron skillet with onions untill brown. Add water and make gravy. Serve with mashed potatoes...sooo good 😋

My husband won't eat any kind of liver but I love it. I eat mine with sauted onions and ketchup, but also love them with gravy. I also think they are good with rice.
my momma used to do these, after frying them up she would deglaze the pan with marsala and then put in the sliced white onion and some butter and serve them on toast.
Love chicken livers! Only eaten my mothers. She fries bacon first and then cooks the livers in the bacon grease, smaller pieces with small pieces of bacon stuck to them. No flour. Yum!
Thanks for the idea of the paper towel on the splatter screen. never thought of that! Great idea! i use a splatter screen a lot & yes, the livers do pop! As well as fish eggs that my husband loves.
Love chicken livers gravy and mashed potatoes. My mother made bacon wrapped livers with a water chestnut Rolled inside. Baked in the oven. Called it Ramaki. Soo good.
I love fried chicken livers. When we were first married, my wife cooked a chicken liver dish that she got when she lived in France. They were in a sauce with sherry; delicious!

I love chicken livers, but I don't flour them. I fry them in butter, I'm from NYC and this is how we fry everything, and I cook them with chopped onions. Cook them so that they are light pink in the center. I also love chicken hearts cooked the same way. I eat them with soft white bread to soak up the butter! Delicious!

Yum! I don’t remember ever having to make my son eat anything. Whenever I made something new he knew to ‘ just try it’ and if he didn’t like it he didn’t have to eat it, but I can’t remember him ever choosing to not eat something. He turned into an adult who likes a wide variety of foods (like me!) and I’m proud to know that I helped to make him that way 😊
I love chicken and beef liver. But my wife can't stand either or the smell, so she will not cook them. Mostly, I have to buy them at a chicken place. However, you've encouraged me and taught me how so I've cooked some for myself. A lot cheaper and tastes good. Thank you for being so informative with the cooking and encouraging with the Word. Yum! I enjoy them! I like with ketchup too and they are good with soft cooked onions...i remember Popeyes used have Cajun rice with liver that was so good but no longer on their menu now ! Livers are good and have iron!Thank you Brenda!🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Hi Brenda ❣️🌿🐦 I love them just about as good as anything I can think of, in fact I would rather have them than a steak, shrimp, fried chicken or anything else. When I put mine in the skillet I take a fork and poke, poke, poke them. That lets the air out and they don't pop so bad. love love love me some chicken livers..oh my..good and crispy crust,,lovely..and gizzards also..and wings, seems i always got the wings after everyone else got the other parts, as a kid..but grammas biscuits and a couple of wings and a liver..and of course sweet tea with lemons floating in it..
My goodness, I just love chicken livers and all other kinds of liver, because my sweet little mother always cooked the liver for me and my Daddy. The boys wouldn't eat it. And she made me cold liver sandwiches to take to school for lunch the next day. Same for her veal cutlets which in the old days were nice big thick cutlets.
I love chicken livers. Just fried like that is the best. I also fry them and add them to brown gravy with mushrooms and serve over white rice. My grandma used to make me chicken livers & spaghetti when I was little. My older sister gags just thinking about it! lol
Brenda I just love chicken livers too! I make gravy with them though and have boiled potatoes and carrots. I also cook onions with the livers and all family always liked it too.

Hey!! I always go to your videos!!! Cooking chicken livers today, I grew up in WV we ate what mom fixed! I am 60 yrs old these remind me of home. We don’t live their anymore but I still cook old fashion. Love your videos Brenda❤

I just bought some beef liver to fry for myself! I'll have to find me some chicken livers now! I'm gonna have some of my homemade cabbage soup tonight! And take down my tree! I hate to put it away!
