Marie, thank you for your comment! Did you follow the recipe fully? I mean I can't seem to understand why it would be bitter at all. Did you add more whole spices than what the recipe stated?!
Ahh ok, yes sometimes when you add a little too many whole spices they can overpower any dish. I think that's what's happened in this case. Yes, definitely do try it again with the amount I used in the video and it should turn out perfect and apologies for the extremely late response, your message notification just popped up today. 😊
Thank you so much for this recipe. For 15 years I've struggled with pilau rice until tonight! Not only was your recipe easy to follow, the rice tastes amazing and the best I've ever made them. This will now be my go to chicken pilau recipe. I can't tell you how happy I am. My husband and children polished off their plates which is something they've never done before when I've made pilau! I also got a... they taste as good as your mum's compliment! I've even dished some out to family, again something I've not done before. Thank you so much 😊 Will definitely be trying out some more of your recipes.
Rehana, this is just so wonderful to hear! Makes me so happy knowing that the dish was enjoyed by everyone. Please do check out my other videos too, I've over 150+ of them...
Fozia, thank you. I'm glad you find the recipes easy to follow, Iet me know how you get on with it when you get round to making this! Would love to hear! 😊
Hi I managed to make this dish the other day and it turned out soooo good. My inlaws were so impressed so thank you soo much for all your help! It was perfect and I'll definitely be making this again.
I’ve been searching for a simple chicken brown rice recipe for so long, my mum passed away 2 years ago and made rice exactly like this. I’ve been searching on RU-vid and came across so many variations where you make yakhni first or something which is just so long! Making it tomorrow In Sha Allah
Hi Lasha, thank you for your comment. Sorry to hear of your loss! ILWIR. I normally never do a yakhni for chicken pilau as it's not needed due to chicken cooking faster than lamb and mutton! This is a wonderful recipe, do let me know how you find it! Enjoy!
I am so glad you explained this! My family don't understand me when i ask questions but you literally answered answered all of them so clearly even the little points you explained. ! Love this channel now
"Ummm it smells incredible" I can vouch for that, I swear the smell was emanating out of my Laptop, seriously.....OMG cant wait to make that. Love your style , keep them coming.
John, thank you for your comment! This is such a wonderful dish and I can fully relate to the amazing aromas coming through your laptop! Please, definitely do try the recipe out you'll not be disappointed.😊👍
I checked RU-vid for pilau rice recipes and found yours the easiest to follow. Just made it today for my family and it's AMAZING!!!!! Thank you for sharing! 💕
Thank you for this. I gave it a shot last night and it was perfect. I gave mine 9 out of 10 because it was enjoyed without raita or a curry on top. It was divine on its own. I’m going to enjoy it this morning for breakfast with 2 fried eggs and an awesome cup of tea which as stated before is pure heaven for me. So many thanks indeed. I remain your ever indebted and truly grateful student & admirer of your talent. 🌹🌹🌹
Brother Abdaljabbar, nothing compares to a good, tasty pilau (I prefer chicken to lamb) and oh god yes to it for breakfast! You ain't a 'Desi' if you can't have it for brekkie! Lol Enjoy... And JazakAllah for your kind words! Stat blessed! 😊
I made your recipe a few days ago for my son in law who just arrived from Pakistan. He loved it! He made a delicious yogurt sauce to go with it. 😍. Thank you for a great recipe!
Hi Susan, thank you for your comment. Wonderful to hear you all enjoyed this recipe! Please do take a look at my channel playlist which has many more authentic recipes. 😊👍
Thank you for this recipe, I picked it up 6 months ago and I have made it ever since. This is by far my favorite pilau recipe, and I will be cooking it today as well. Much appreciated!
What if we fry the chicken in the onion/garlic/ginger mix before adding the tomatoes. Would that not get rid of that chickeny smell better? Would the end result be altered? I like that this recipe is so easy to follow ❤
Love your recipes and your channel. Our family used to do the same re washing meat before cooking however once I started medical school I learned that washing chicken spreads the campylobacter and other harmful bacteria that are present on raw chicken. Washing will never remove these bacteria and the splashes of contaminated water land all over your kitchen sink and surrounding area. This can lead to serious illness/food poisoning.

I have never made pulao before and this made things so much easier! Thank you so much for making it so simple, my rice were cooked so perfectly and fluffy, I could not be happier, I did tweak it a bit, but, honestly so so so good Masha’Allah. 💕
At beginning I thought it doesn’t look so yummy but end results 10/10 simply tried to make my partner of of fav dishes that i had no idea how to cook. Thank You
Absolutely delicious. I made this today but I've never put rice on dhum in the oven before. My pans are steel pans so to be on the safe side I transferred everything into a large pirex dish and put it on dhum in the oven. Wow! Absolutely brilliant. Recipe is spot on. I've been worried about ramadan coming up and not being able to taste food as I'm going along. Now I don't have to worry as your recipes are so spot on I don't need to do a taste check whilst cooking. Please do more recipes. Don't stop. I've got back chops I need to make tomorrow so will look out for your recipes. You are amazing as is your cooking. You make it all so easy to understand and follow. Brilliant!
Hi Celina, thank you for your comment. Super pleased to hear you enjoyed the pilau. And yes I can totally relate to the taste test especially when one is fasting. It's hard.. but you've got that covered now! 😉😘😊
This is the best ever recipe online, highly recommend it. If i can cook this any one can - fyi I have never cooked anything before, first attempt it was absolutely amazing. Thank you 🙏

Are you a teacher? The method of explanation is excellent. I just got married and moved to Pakistan from UK, lol, as a British chick I only knew toast n beans but Pakistani are desi food lovers. This is a great video for me. At a learning stage and loving it x
Hi Lia Lia, thank you for your comment. No I'm not a teacher and thank you for such kind words! I try to explain as clearly and concisely as possible and I'm happy that my content is easy to follow! Aww bless you.. enjoy and im sure the in laws will love your food! 😊👍
Eid Mubarak! I made this today along with your chicken masala curry and crispy chicken tenders! My family said that i made everything perfect! You are a God send. Thank you for all your recipes ❤️
Khair Mubarak ros A, and Eid Mubarak to you and your loved ones too! I hope you had a lovely day! I'm so happy that everyone enjoyed the food and in sha Allah you'll try more recipes! I have lots more to share.. 😊👍
This should be proper way of cooking biryani if anyone wants to get perfect taste of biryani. In Bangladesh we do in same process except we fry rice in ghee with and onion and garam masala and add required amount of water. Next step add cooked chicken and stir together. After a few minutes when whole mixture is thicken then put the lid on put in very slow gas and they taste super. But in abroad we can put in the oven. Thanks for showing in real way . Cooking them separately and mixing them together is a gulf of taste in biryani cooking . Although basmati rice is very soft if not careful rice gets mashed or broken..
I like following your recipes, you explain everything thoroughly without going overboard and you cook the way my mum cooks too. Means I can watch your videos over and over to learn rather than annoy my mum asking a thousand questions 😂
Hi Fozia, thank you so much for your comment! Really appreciate your kind words and such a huge compliment to compare my cooking technique to your mums! Lol at the thousand Qs.. 😂 There's so much more to come. Stay tuned!
I tried out this recipe and it turned out amazing! The pulao looked and tasted great, everybody loved it and I've shared your recipe with family and friends. Thank you :)
Your recipes are amazing and the most thorough with details of real life cooking. The explanation of time is most helpful, plus the visuals of how the food should look at each step are more than a girl can ask for! Thanks so much. Am cooking this now and just had to let you know how helpful your recipe has been. xxx

Besides your yummy recipes you are a fantastic teacher. Will surely try your pulluo recipe! Be well and prosper. I follow you from California I am so glad a British Pakistani puts up cooking in Pakistani style
My since apologies for overlooking this comment Abigail. I use my mobile to respond most of the time and the notifications don't always come up to show a follow on comment! Yes of course you can skip the chicken part and head on over to the rice.. it will taste perfectly the same minus the chicken of course! Hope that helps! 😊
This ain't trini Pelau dawg lol This is Desi Pulao which is really rice cooked in seasoned meat broth similar to indian biriyani but its a different cooking process. The other comment you said she sounds british its because shes a british pakistani.
On a lesser note. Add less tomato as it can make pelau taste sweet, you don't want to add cumin and other spices before the onions get browned as it does not take longer them to burn, also leave the rice alone in the end no need to keep mixing them till last breath as they will become khichri. All these tips are for beginners.
Very good advice. Its always good to leave the rice alone for a good 10/15 minutes and then to mix it gently. As it is way too hot to mix as soon as you take it off the heat and it will break easily.
I made this yesterday and all I can say is WOW 😍. A nice easy to follow recipe that tastes amazing. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to trying some of your other recipes x
Thanks for the info that how you cook the onions depends on the color of the pulao.. But I never put that in oven. Trust me it still works deliciously. Yummiest 👍👍
Honestly this recipe has not only become a staple in our house, it’s also helped me understand these types of dishes so much more. It really is all down to the colour of those onions! Thank you so much ❤️
❤wish me luck sister its 4th day Ramadan 2024 for ages wanted to try to make you're recipe and I'm cooking for my family today انشاءاللہ inshallah it comes out well
Hi Shamza! Been meaning to try this for a while, and finally did this evening. It was absolutely delicious! The only thing is I tried to cut corners, and not finish it off in the oven - just turning my stove very low - and some of the rice stuck. Not enough to affect the flavor though. Definitely will be doing this more in the future!
I'm going to make this dish tomorrow. I made your Lamb Pilau and it was amazing. I had been looking for a recipe for that dish since my friends mum made it for me years ago.
😋wow my first time to see an Indian cooking sweet food talking in English from the beginning of the vlog to the end , its very interesting to watch and listen, the food is 🙌🏻🔥🌹,it’s not like i hate those who don’t speak English but i struggles to understand the cooking especially when the ingredients are named in another language. Everything in the vlog is 🔥💪splendid.
Hi Annsastacia, thank you for your comment. I completely understand where you are coming from, that is why I want to bring cooking in English and I'm glad my videos are easy to follow. 😊
