Chief Reacts To "LOVEBITES - Stand and Deliver" 

They killed it live too. I was at the gig in Tokyo on March 11th. Crowd went berserk….and I’m smack at the front, feet from Asami and 63 years old. Haven’t had such a workout in years!

The new energy is the pent up frustration with the hiatus and the pandemic, the jolt of new life from Fami, Midori having become a fitness-contest contender, Miyako having worked on her speed (with coaching from Midori), Asami having worked on her vocal power, and all of them wanting to make a statement. That's all.

That energy has been building methinks with the hiatus they had and then fami coming onto the scene was meant to be she personally was ar a crossroads with her bass playing weather to carry on then going for the audition and actually getting the gig was a turning point even the band recognised and felt it after she played with them her style and intruativeness gave them this boost that propelled the rest of the band you can feel it on the whole cd it's a masterpiece lovebites are resurrected!! Love this song, never had a clear favorite til now, this is my favorite! They have come back better, everyone has upped their game and I think Fami ia a great fit.

whole new album is killer. I guess, it´s pent-up energy from the compulsary break because of pandemic, the leave of bassplayer and founder miho, not knowing if and how lovebites can go on without her, asamis and miyakos marriages and motherhoods. but like they sing in their lyrics, they didn´t give up, but practised, practisied, practised. plus they got a huge jolt of energy and joy through the new bassplayer Fami, who fits perfectly in the band. and now they are all very happy to be back: better, stronger, fitter and faster than ever. thank you for your very fine reaction.

I'm 53 and I can unequivocally state that Lovebites is one of the greatest bands I've heard in my life! Nice share and nice respect!

I love how both their first new singles with their new bassist start with bass!!!! How cool is that for Fami. Also that says so much about these girls!! Such amazing and talented ladies....that kick f🎉ing ass!!!!

Thanks for the great reaction. I'm glad to see you were just as blown away by this video as I was. The music is catchy, the playing technique is excellent, and the video is full of fun. They are more natural, freer and happier than before, as if they had been released from something. (I believe the reason for this change is the new bass player "fami") I hope they become more famous and loved all over the world.

Believe it or not all of their songs are in English except for one that was first put on The Lovebites EP Bravehearted and then redone in English on the Awakening from Abyss

Fami is the new energy!

You talked about energy… it’s Fami on the bass. She’s brought a vibe that wasn’t there before. They said this on the bass audition video - she brought an energy to the room. Well here it is on the recording! 🎸

Lovebites always delivers.

Lovebites have ALWAYS sung everything in English. That was one of their ‘things’ and Miyako said that was deal maker/breaker for her, and is true to this day. This is a cracking great song! 🤘

Good reaction,.. their music moves me a lot too...Can't wait to see a live version of this.. One of the reasons they chose English is the phrasing fits this style of music. If you go back a good starting spot is "Holy War" and go from there .no bad tracks

Many fans rave about oh how good this is, but they forget most of their songs have a message and this one is no different! They are telling us they are back, new style forthcoming and they are committed to doing it!! I also picked this up during the Documentry for the new bassist. They have a habit of wrapping good music around the lyrics!! As for the music it has a British metal vibe ie Motorhead, Iron maiden and Judas Priest

Fami Fami Fami!

A very very good title elaborated so that it feels like a hit. A striking title and at the same time " mainstream " if I dare to say. After all it depends on what you like in metal. I prefer the speed/thrash tracks from their catalog. The tracks that rip your head off at the first listen. In this new album the best track for me is "soldier stand solitarily" this track deserves a special attention for those who have the same taste as me.

I’m puzzled. You’ve been reacting to Lovebites on and off for a couple of years. So you must know that they sing every song in English. Enjoy your reactions though, always have. Lovebites are like the world’s biggest coiled spring that’s just been released. First there was Covid which put the brakes on what was becoming a bandwagon. Then Miho threw a big spanner in the works. Two members had children, but that isn’t the reason they were absent for so long. The loss of their bassist meant they had to regroup, babies or no babies. They were thorough in their search for a new member, and, in a move which surprised many, chose a young, ridiculously gifted and eternally smiling bassist who goes by her assumed name of Fami. Add the frustration, to the buildup of material that they all wanted and needed to be performing and then throw in a bright, bubbly 20 year old and….bang. Judgement Day. Best metal album ever. Asami said that the title is a sort of question…”this is us, we’re back, how do we sound..judgement day” I can only answer that question with “wow”. I knew the level we’re hearing on JD was on the cards, but nobody could have anticipated just how much more energy they have, with every member being that notch or two better (Fami is already in their league, they’ll make her an even better musician). Lovebites. Best band ever.😅

It is different. With this new album they turned to a more progressive darker sound. And its outstanding. They can do everything. Fami added some new elements, Miyako is shredding more than ever, Midori is insane and shredded, Asami improved a lot, Haruna become a monster on that drum kit. There are no limits for them. Its pure metal madness

They have a different, edgier vibe on their work on the new album. Absorbing Fami into the pack has created a new something. I would never have anyone take anything away from Miho, not for the fact that she was one of the originators of the band nor the quality of her input and playing over the time she was in the band, but Fami is a very interesting potion to pour into the mix.

Chief, you are excused. There are probably about *a thousand* details to be discovered in this song and the footage. I mean, it seems to me just _phsically_ impossible to address all of them accordingly. You have to focus on just some of them in _any_ reaction. Otherwise, you don' stand a chance. It simply is Lovebites. They are waaaay ahead of us, musically and in terms of the complexity of their songs, and the intelligence of the arrangements of their songs. Off the charts, unique, without peers, a phenomenon.
