The chiffchaff is a little olive-brown warbler that aggressively flits among trees and bushes while shaking its tail.
Although this is not always the case, chiffchaffs frequently have black legs and a short light eye stripe, but willow warblers, which seem quite similar, have pale legs and a long yellow eye stripe.
It is easily identified by its singing, which gives it its name.
It snatches insects off trees and flies out to catch them in flight.
