Feel exactly the same. I watched it initially because it was a traditional game anime, though I didn't look up what game was played. I was expecting maybe something similar to shogi, so when the first episode introduced karuta I was like, "Well that seems kinda lame." But then you watch the anime, watch real-life karuta, and research the game, and it's all so incredible.
I watched it becuz of 3-gatsu no lion i thought it's the same genre and so and it feels me something same ❤ i love both but no anime is above 3-gatsu no lion
No words can express my joy upon discovering Chihayafuru. It just feels like home, something you can come back to whenever you feel like you're at your lowest or when you don't know to what direction your life is heading. Definitely one of the best series out there story-wise, animation-wise, and music-wise. It was definitely ahead of its time, and it doesn't feel like something aired 10 years ago since so many themes and scenes still really hit close to home. I hope more and more people discover the beauty of this series.
Every now and again you hear a song that makes you feel warm, golden, and glowing inside. This theme is one of them. Not only that, but the anime itself-the colours, characters, plot, and themes-make you feel so much joy, hope, and ambition. The only thing that makes me feel like this anime and its soundtrack is a thanksgiving dinner, with the autumn leaves in full colour outside, and with delicious food on a table surrounded by your loved ones.
The beauty of karuta was well delivered with much emotions and attractions. This is more than just art. This anime is the definition of masterpiece. It is a shame that the new gen will less likely watch Chihayafuru, or anything like Chihayafuru. But im more glad than ever because i dont want some twitter or fandom come ruin this. Should stay as it is.
Ahh jeez i'm tearing up. This just warms me up inside. Love these characters and the story and everything. No other story gave me quite the feeling this did. Man you can actually feel the wind in your hair and smell the autumn leaves with this song! So much emotion packed into one small piece of music apart of one grand story.
It's so nostalgic. Memories overwhelmed me. Ah! The manga is going to end. Glad, it reached 50th volume. I was literally so sad that it was going to end at 49th volume. I literally wished that anyhow, it should go to 50th volume, and when it happened I was just overwhelmed with joy and was blabbering to my brothers. Hope we have a announcement on its last volume sale.
I miss Chihaya, Arata and Taichi so much!!! The manga is so good but I want to listen to Arata's Fukui's accent so much, Taichi's attractive manly voice, and Chihaya's airhead & always-in-high-spirit talking! Season 3 pleaseeeeeeee orz
I miss them alot...hearing this takes me back to my childhood when I first watcged this anime and gained so much obsession with it that I literally used to cry to meet them all...I literally wanted to experience what chihaya did....!!I miss this anime
Waiting for season 4. Taichi is my all time favourite. Finally he will get his long awaited happiness. Thankfully Chihaya will realize her true feelings. Love how much ambition and love shown in this anime.
Just started rewatching the show so I can see it again before the third season (Hurrah!) Still love it, and still love this five note leitmotif in the soundtrack.
2019 .. today i just watched them fighting together, it teared me up to see my most beloved two favourite chara fight against each other... its like watching Adam and Eve giving their best performance to please their God by playing Karuta.
Why do you have to spoiler? I mean this is my favourite anime, after the fucking cliffhanger of the last season why do i have to discover the best thing of this series with your damn comment.
Missed this so much I forgot Chihayafuru even existed in the first place, but the moment I clicked into S3 the first episode this popped up, and I'm swept by a clear sense of nostalgia.
OVA came out on 13th of September with 22nd volume of manga but no fansub group translated it yet. Hopefully, someone will do it someday, in not so distant future.
_Chihaya, you said that you'll use your right hand for fighting arata.._ (Me: *Are you crazy!* ) _But, you realize that you have to use your right hand for facing Queen..._ (Me: *I cried aff* )
