An uncomfortable truth that needs to be pointed out is that a sizable portion of porn and thirst consumers are the same children and teenagers that are alluded to in some of these videos which is part of why so those teen bodybuilding pages get traction. You understand that kids aren’t stupid and they make irrational decisions that get the legal adults in trouble just for trying to, for example, do what he does. I think curiosity and rebellion gets to our heads because we want to figure out the world around us but our parents are either 1 not active in our lives so why should we gaf, or 2 way too overprotective to where we fight, run away and get ourselves into bad situations in pursuit of knowledge. People don’t know how to parent this correctly. They punish, they shame, they even dehumanize us but they fail to understand that proper comprehensive sex education and teaching their child to be open minded is far more beneficial. Love this! I also want to say that it's not just predatory or illegal practices that we should be aware of. Consent can be taken back and we should respect that, especially with curated porn posted online. Thanks for talking about it. With gays at least, too much of it has to do with the community and the generational aspects of that. The gay porn industry is basically our Hollywood, for good reason historically. Then there's the dad/son thing which also makes a lot of sense. Most of us are young when we get into the community and we bring all of our baggage from our male role models (many of whom failed us) along with us. It makes us view sex in a different way and excuse things that should not be excused. I'm not really sure what to do about it though. Along with the rest of the world, we're becoming a lot more trauma-informed and I think that's helping shape things in a healthier direction which is a fantastic start. But eventually I'd like to see if it's possible for us to not look for men to dominate us and control us when we're so young and vulnerable and for older men to be able to say no and not have any interest in that sort of thing. In addition, keeping porn sort of a gay pastime I think can overall be a positive thing. There just has to be a stronger division between fantasy and reality there. We can enjoy it like works of fiction and appreciate the craft behind it. Or in the case of harder Paul Morris-type stuff, at the very least live vicariously through it so we're not encouraging getting physically ill (in a very sad way) on top of all of that. We should all want better for younger generations, not worse.

However, you have to understand that a vast majority of people find p0rn at a very young tender age for whatever reason it may be and are victims of seggsual assault and violence. Especially for my queer folks out there. We are isolated from a young age about what it’s like to be intimate with someone else when it comes to comprehensive sex education, parents giving advice to their children, and reaching out to others. There are good resources now to learn and be certified to teach comprehensive sex ed, but most of us resorted to p0rn, and got an entirely skewed perception of what intimacy is supposed to look like. Playing on our worst traumas, our deepest desires, and our natural instinct of curiosity. This is a whole different conversation to be had. Yes you can use p0rn responsibly to have a good time, but you have to admit that the culture surrounding p0rn, seggs, promiscuity, etc. is extremely detrimental to everyone young and old. 18 is just a number, nothing magic happens on that birthday. On one hand I am always shocked how Americans think that their norms are valid for the whole world. For me it is more disturbing that a 16 yo can drive a car or buy a gun than to enjoy sex. And on the other hand I am OK with a 17 yo drinking a beer ocasionally, which would be absolutely shocking for an American.
The issue is if you say that 18 doesn’t make sense because it’s “nothing magic” then can you make that argument for younger ages too… at what point do you recognize a child doesn’t understand the implications or is mature enough to make that decision. You can argue about the exact number but the bottom line it is about protecting people. You get rights as you get older and if someone is more mature than someone older they just have to wait… Btw the min age to buy a gun in US is between 18 and 21. Consent (not recorded sex) in some states is 16. And I totally agree with you about the drinking and I’m pretty sure a lot of Americans do as well.
@@MilanTobdzic I get it that the law has to draw a line on a fixed age, but some 17 yo plus 11 months kids are more mature than some 18 yo+ 1 month but nothing magics happens on that birthday and the consequences can be severe. Plus different states or countries have different ages for the same thing, and the young people are not different in those countries. But as you say you can argue about the exact age and it may not be fair that where you live determines what you are allowed but you need some age related laws.
