I see what you are saying, and true there are religions out there that are considered more "cult" than faith. However, I think in many religions, such as my own, at a certain point, especially when a child reaches teen years and early adult hood, they actually DO question faith and their part in it, whether they want to believe or not, then go on from there. My children were raised as Christians, yet my daughter is now a Buddhist, and I'm ok with that. I wasn't at first, but realized quickly that either I accept what she is, or alienate her. Same with my son. He has explored different beliefs and has kind of combined them. Ok with that too. As far as science goes, children are taught that in school, at least here in the United States, all through out from elementary and through high school. Religion is not allowed. (unless its a Christian school, but science is STILL taught there). So I believe there actually IS a check and balance. I also believe, since it IS their own children, that parents should be allowed to use whatever doctrine or religion they want. It's their right, not yours, not mine, not anyone else's, no matter what you believe or don't believe. That is what freedom of speech and religion is all about! Atheists are non religious, and they're allowed to teach their children that there is no God, so why can't Christians (and other religions) teach their children about their faith? It's not about "fact or fiction" it's about faith and personal beliefs, or non beliefs, and every one has a right to them!

Also, as you cannot admire someone's ability TO believe, I feel sadness and pity for yourself to whom cannot believe, and deny other's of their rights TO believe just because it is your "opinion" they shouldn't do so or allow their children to do so. It's just narrow minded and jaded...

It is obvious that mostly you are repeating what you've said before, for the most part, which makes you not only a troll, but ignorant and redundant (plus you can't spell worth a crap). You aren't even close to listening or respecting what others are saying, you just want to get your own sad opinionated words in. As I said, parents have the right to raise their children the way THEY feel is right, whether it's regarding religion, or anything else in their child's lifespan. How is a child to learn right from wrong, morals, etc.. if they are allowed to make up their minds about every little thing? Some things, sure.. but that's what parent's are for, guidance, learning,understanding the way of the world. What you are saying is still repetitive dogma opinion of your own. I wasn't saying children HAVE to have/learn religion. THAT is up to the parents. I'm saying whether you like it or not, parent's have the right to chose their children's lifestyle. NOT you. You probably don't even have children so your opinion is moot, really. Atheists DO regect religion and are highly and aggressively against it. I've seen and heard this just as much as as certain Christian groups. Atheist's rally just as much. It's not just about them not believing or not believing. They don't WANT to believe. But that's ok too. Just as it is Ok for Christians TO believe. Your opinion is still just that. Dogma, opinion, prejudice and persecution. Nothing myself or anyone can say will change your mind, so we'll have to agree to disagree. If you can't.. well.. that is your problem and sad story, and I will pray for you that you will some day open your mind, and respect what other's have to say. Until then, take care and God bless and keep you safe, and may He open your mind towards others so you may have respect and acceptance for others, most of all, tolerance! As for this conversation, it's going no where, so I will now leave you with positive thoughts of my own. Good luck, young man.
