Childhood Stories (2014) 

All of these stories are heartbreaking. But the stories of Fathers abusing their own children are the saddest for me to hear. Mainly because time after time you hear those grown children still yearning for their Father to love them. All they knew from their Fathers was abuse and being used and despite that still wanting to have a real Father. I cannot imagine how painful that must be.

It's so sad how an abuser can make you feel like you're the one who is wrong.

For many years I was abused by many people ... Not many of my family know this ..,sometimes I think it would help them understand why I behaved the way I did .. Turned it around now and life can begin again ❤

There are spoken words in this documentary that I will write down and keep for the rest of my life. This is truly about Darkness to Light.

I am a Certified Facilitator of Darkness to Light child sexual abuse prevention. This documentary is excellent. I am thankful for all survivors who are willing to share their story. I believe the more people share their stories the more we can get people to realize what an epidemic this is and to start learning the facts versus myths.

i can NOT understand that there is ANY Statute Of Limitations on child abuse in any/every form it manifests. each and every state must ABOLISH the Statute Of Limitations on child abuse and ALL sexual violations regardless of age.

Just found this channel. As heartbreaking and enraging these stories are, I'm in amazement of the human ability to live through torture and still endure. Our experience on earth is not easy. It's actually quite painful. But it's the lessons we take away from that suffering that are so important. Every one of these people are breathtaking. ☮️💗💯

All these stories....all this heartbreak. I want to gather all of your childhood selves into my arms and weep over you all, weep with you until there are no more tears in the world and tell you all how much God loves you....and how sorry I am you all experienced this~ and are stuck with these memories for the remainder of your adult lives.

I’m so grateful for these brave people who took the worst of their young life situations and sharpened them into instruments of creation ; to bring forward their own particular introspection , self forgiveness and peace of heart - that’s nearly impossible to do without being outwardly abused sexually or psychologically as a child , a young adult or most of all as a fully aware adult. I have the same dream every few months. I dream that I have to safe a child victim from sexual abuse. Sometimes I succeed and sometimes I don't. Sometimes I ask other people to help me and they act like it's normal. I have never been a victim of sexual abuse. But I think it is so terrible and I want to do anything I can to safe someone.

All of this and every bit of it is me … much therapy , 32 years of AA (of course I became a drug abuser and alcoholic) , and just all kinds of work, has made me a survivor. Day by Day I am Surviving !

One of the ways to help children at an early age is to talk to them and explain that their private parts are THEIR PRIVATE parts, that NO ONE can touch them there. Parents have that responsibility but a school programme should be established as of the first grade with sessions explaining the same thing and setting up a system where children can draw, take part in plays, and specialist present who could monitor and identify if some children seems to be keeping a dark secret that is harming them. According to some statistics 14 year old - boys mostly - are the ones to start sexual acts on possibly much younger siblings. So there too, parents need to warm their teenagers about these risks and school programmes need to be put in place education to warn and sensitize them on the harm they do. Wasn’t there an entire recent documentary on the Charleston teacher?? I know it’s on Amazon. It’s about a lot of those students taking their lives over the years. Something like 30 male alumni.

Excellent, but still exist looks like never is going to stop.

These good people are not just survivors, they are thrivers , growing anew So so difficult to even conceive us for most of us Thriver , from surviver let’s maybe think about that a bit :))

Damn any and every institution that trains children and others to ignore their internal instincts!!! The instinct that tells one when something is wrong and to get help!!!
