I want to drive through LA and to the beach with the top down while listening to this song. Not gonna lie, when I first heard this, I thought "wtf is this" but after a couple of listens, this shit is growing on me fast.

The album catches you off guard but after you listen to it a couple times you can really start to see the absolute genius of it. Excellent album by Gambino. Hoping he does some rap in the future, but I'm still satisfied either way!

Since it's title California, when the song started I was thinking it may have been a shout out to Sublime's Raggae influences. This definitely has a Caribbean vibe, and his vocal inflection kind of reminds me of Harry Nilsson's Coconut song. Love this song.
