[Chorus] You can feel it in the streets On a day like this, the heat It feel like summer I feel like summer I feel like summer You can feel it in the streets On a day like this, the heat I feel like summer She feel like summer This feel like summer I feel like summer [Verse 1] Seven billion souls that move around the sun Rolling faster, faster and not a chance to slow down Slow down Men who made machines that want what they decide They're just tryna tell the children please slow down Slow down [Pre-Chorus] I know Oh, I know you know that pain I'm hopin' that this world will change But it just seems the same (It is not the same) [Chorus] You can feel it in the streets On a day like this, the heat It feels like summer I feel like summer I feel like summer You can feel it in the streets On a day like this, that heat I feel like summer (I feel like summer) I feel like summer (I feel like summer) [Verse 2] Every day gets hotter than the one before Running out of water, it's about to go down Go down Air that kill the bees that we depend upon Birds were made for singing Waking up to no sound No sound [Pre-Chorus] I know Oh, I know you know my pain I'm hopin' that this world will change But it just seems the same I know Oh, I hope we change I really thought this world would change But it seems like the same [Outro] I know Oh, my mind is still the same I'm hoping that this world will change But it just seems the same I know Oh, I hope we change
Im here because I finished Jay's playkist of the walking dead new frontier and I think he adds this to every of his playlist for an ending credits to make us release the pressure from watching his gameplay just like whats happens in the movies when the movie is done an random music starts playing....
Beautiful lyrics. It's rare to see a popular artist making song about the environment, it is really a serious issue about our planet's current condition, hope more artist make songs like this to encourage people to make actions about the environment. "Im hoping that this world will change".

I wonder if he understood after writing this that he had created magic. This song has a transportational quality to it; it is more than mood or vibe, it channels a season into existence. What a fine example of artistic mastery.
Everyone loves the “summer” beat but pay attention to the lyrics.. “Running out of water, it’s about to go down” “Air that kills the bees we depend upon” “Birds that sing wake up to no sound” Do you really love the heat?
You guys are saying this is chill, but the actual verses have deep / apocalyptic lyrics. This is about a permanent summer, and Gambino expresses this by emphasizing the heat and saying he hopes it all changes. It's about Global Warming, and how the environment will eventually make EVERY day feel like summer. It has a chill vibe to mask the deeper / serious message inside, and to reflect how we all remain so relaxed despite the fact our planet is being doomed.
That this song didn't win a Grammy is a crime. It was nominated for Best R&B Song. 4 years later and this is, imo, his greatest song. Such potent writing, what a depressing song but simultaneously so vibey
I can remember myself driving to the beach, window open, sun shining down on my windshield. And this song playing while the rush of wind and heat flow through my car. That’s what this reminds me of. Good times...
I love how you can bump this as a summer jam, and it also talks about climate change at the same time, Gambino is a genius. He makes a super political mumble rap song, and another political summer jam
Only the bumblebees matter. They actually contribute to pollination. Honey bees don't and are actively killing off the bumblebees. If we want to save the important ones we gotta stop supporting honey producers. Stay woke. 👌👌
Literally same 🤣 I wanted to see if anyone else was from his walking dead playlist. Apparently he puts it in all of them for some reason, cause that's 90% of the comment section 🤣🤣
“Birds were made for singing, waking up to no sound, no sound” 👀 sends chills through my body. This song is eerily mystifying absolutely beautiful. Well done Bino 💯💗
I love how it’s so cleverly disguised as a feel-good song when heard casually, but upon closer and more focused listening you realize just how heartbreakingly poignant it actually is
For all the Kubz Scouts questions: I think this song means the playlist is over, I could be wrong though. It’s a wonderful song though, glad I clicked and listened. :)
This fuckin melody vibe with such soulful notes and soul, without him or even needing to use the Neo Soul, his strongest vocal ability, along with so relaxing/paradisiacal instrumental, he has a composition that is completely enchanting for his genre (though Childish is multi-functional and I do not even understand letter because i'm Brazilian and the lyrics still have not been made available here... I don't speak fluently). Is something so much classic, beatiful, symphonic, melancholic, irregular and poetically urban
