the hardest thing at the moment is falling out of love with someone who doesn’t even know you are in love with them. :) this song is on repeat because it makes me feel powerful
i swear he is probably the most underrated rapper right now! people doesn't give him the props he deserves. Overall, Childish Gambino is one of the best alive.
Zalchord blew up fast? he is 31 now and still underrated, he doesn't get the props he deserves. i mean how can iggy, nicki, drake, ross be more famous than him? new generation of kids causes that.
You hear the beat at first, and it's such a Heavenly instumental- those violins are dope! You would think this song has something to do with an ideal relationship. But then the lyrics, I mean the entire song is about some bar bitch he's fucking. Gambino threw us off here, but I'm glad he did. Keeps you on your toes.
i don't think the beat doesn't fit the lyrics, he talks about him being depressed and that's why he fucks her as well. Which kind of changes the rest of the lyrics meaning as well :l
isnt it about him fucking his best friend's gf tho lol. he mentions her being a perfect girl ( career woman) in the first verse). then in chorus he says i hope nobody catches us ( but kinda hope his best friend catch them).
*God this song takes me back.* Getting dressed and driving through the city late at night to meet up with a girl at a coffee shop who just wants to talk in person. _Damn, I thought I had everything figured out back then._
@@adeledeborah9862 I kind of had to :'D my grades weren't the best + since I lived in a small apartment, whenever I practiced the violin the noise would be so loud that it disrupted my neighbors and family lol. The violin is a very powerful and beautiful instrument, I was so good at it too. Whenever I hear this song or any song for that matter that involves the violin I instantly get nostalgic and slightly sad,, BUT whenever I get my own place I'm going to practice again! so yay
@@v603 Yes go practice go get better! It s my favourite instrument and when I hear violin music I feel touched, it S the onkg thing in this rotten world that can rtsouch my heart so yeah. I wish I could ve started playing violin when I was little haha
That violin is amazing.. So emotional.. One can feel the underlying loneliness, emptiness and sadness, despite trying to live it up like a player and appear cool..
Reading these comments are so weird because everyone that commented 7 years ago were in highschool and now they’re probably in their mid 20’s. I feel so young and old at the same time
Yesterday I was with this girl that I really liked since the start of school, we knew eachother for 2 years but we started talking more the second day of school. We started getting closer and I started flirting this month. I came to her house last week and it was obvious that I liked her. But again yesterday, we where in her bedroom listening to music, everything was going so well. In the past few days we have been joking about dating and messing around. I played this song and I grabbed her hand and she kept on looking at me and it was the most attractive thing I’ve ever seen. Later that day we walked around the neighborhood and talked about how we really felt, with the leafs falling down and everything was so perfect. She put my arm around my shoulder and she kept holding my hand and blushing the whole time. I’m so happy that where dating, later that day I was trying to finish my homework but I became lovesick for the rest of the night. I love all of you reading this
Heard this when I was 18 while being with my first love. Now I’m 26 in a completely different headspace. Work and stuff. This song just brings the back memory of me just walking with her in the summer without a single drop of worry in my mind. Good times.
this is kinda crazy to read since I just turned 18 2 weeks ago when i found this song. Wonder how shit'll be in a couple of years. Cause things are kinda opposite for me right now. I haven't had the greatest life up to 18 and I've never been in love. All my life I've been looking forward to going to college next fall and finally starting my life. Everyone always says they wish they could go back to 18, but I've been waiting all my life to turn 18 idk. Well anyways.. hope your doing well right now.
I had such a shitty job but when camp dropped I would listen to it over and over, all the way to the end when he talks about the kid getting off the bus.
He started the song with a cold ass line. "A New York nine's an everywhere else six. Time wise, the opposite goes for chicks." So in New York it's 9 and in cali it's 6, the opposite (69) goes for chicks..... HE IS SO LYRICAL.
@@danielfebrizio9033 no. He's saying when it's 9pm in newyork, it's 6pm in california. "The opposite goes for chicks" meaning that all girls in newyork are 6's and all girls in cali are 9's. Maybe he's saying all girls in newyork are ugly haha, and the opposite goes for women anywhere else.
@@Leviathanshadex no, he's not saying all girls in NY are ugly. There's an old saying about girls being 9's, except in New York, where they turn into 6's. Meaning, they went from being viewed as beautiful to just average. This is because there are so many girls that look good in NY, that they just blend in with the crowd. In this line, he's saying the reverse of that. Which is, a 6 in New York is a 9 anywhere else.
To be quite honest this song reminds me of how self-destructive I can be. Anyhow, still listening in 2021 due to the fact that this song is a masterpiece. And I’m a sucker for stunning music.
The violin and cello usage all throughout the song suggests this song is classy, and yet it discusses some of the least classy facts of reality/people/clubs. That chorus sounds soooo dark.
''But not in a lame way'' ''Like, you aint workin on a screenplay''... He then went on to publish a 72 page scrreenplay lmao. I just think thats kinda funny, like, not in a lame way..
+MyPotatoHurts she's trying to be ironic by having a picture of a cartoon character (popular in hipster culture), but he genuinely loves rugrats so its not ironic for him.
His fucking writing is off the chains man. He’s more than a rapper, he’s an artist and storyteller. I want to write novels and become a NY Times Bestseller, but dreams aside Donald Glover is someone I’d respect from an artist’s perspective.
artist like childish gambino we’re so ingenious and innovative they made music that would appeal to there era and the future. That’s why there still successful. luv this song
Hella crazy coming back to this, everyone keeps talking about how this song makes them feel, whenever I hear this I can’t help but to feel like I’m taking a stroll, riding the train, in a tax can or staring out my window on rainy New York night, I’m born and raised in Southern California but for some reason I can’t explain this song just screams out New York to me, I mean LES is an abbreviation for lower east side, which is lower Manhattan, Glover is truly a genius in everything he does, and in everything he does there’s so much more to it, such a deeper meaning! Love this song
Whenever I listen to this song I feel like it was written for me lol, maybe I'm just a girl who tries to relate to the "baddest girl... career woman, no kids... ironic tattoos" and so, but it definitely makes me feel as if this is my song and I feel as the most baddest girl. Definitely one of my favorites.
banskateproductions this is gambino's flashing lights-the song that most fans like as their fav song but is not really as popular as some of the artist's other work
IVE NEVER RELATED TO LYRICS MORE IML "i wanna know are you ready to cry? because im no good, no good - - - i wanna try, im an awful guy and im always away"
does anyone know any songs that sound like les? i’m so obsessed and addicted to the violin and orchestral sound mixed w his rap and stuff? also the “baby you’re the baddest” part goes so well w the violin background…does anyone know any songs that sound like this im begging pls !!
