Children of Bodom julkaisee tänä perjantaina odotetun kymmenennen albuminsa Hexed. Bändi on tehnyt jo pitkän uran ja myös keikkaraideri on muuttunut paljon vuosien varrella. Yhtyeen Alexi Laiho ja Daniel Freyberg kertovat Korporaation haastattelussa, että 10-15 vuotta sitten huhujen mukaan heillä oli isoin viinaraideri Euroopan festareilla. Alkoholia pyydettiin litroittain ja kaikki meni, mitä saatiin. Matkan varrella keikkaraiderista on tullut kuitenkin maltillisempi, koska bändin pitää maksaa se itse.

I never felt sadder when someone from the world of music died. Like a part of me died. When I was very young COB changed the world of music for me and they influenced it the most of all. Every album is perfect and special, he put his soul into every song and note he played. But unfortunately the disease is stronger and he doesn't ask for years .... Those 10 albums will remain a great history and will be listened to forever. Thank you for everything Alexi, I'll see you one day on the other side.

I don’t understand a word of Finnish apart from Perkele and Paska but there was something captivating and compelling hearing Alexi speaking in his native language as a Finn. I think Finnish is a very pleasant sounding language. I am truly saddened and devastated that he is no longer with us but his metal and guitar work will always be a positive and inspirational force in my life.

He's talking about how COB had more booze at the back stage than any other band in Europe :D Huge ammounts of vodka, vine, beer, whiskey etc... And they drank all of it. Except some weirder drinks. And they also had a pinaple on stage with drums.

R.I.P Alexi Laiho. I've been a metalhead for 12 years. I remember first listening to Are you dead yet? Back when I was in high school. Those were great memories. I remember buying a Kassette Live in Tokyo back in 2003 when i was with my class in Budapest on a field trip ... i was never happier and when i listened to it ... OMG !! The whole bus had to aswell ... sad to see im like this and now especially knowing he is gone ... it's like my memory died with him, but as soon as i put any COB record / CD i remember the feeling his music gave me and still does to this day !!! Yeah, he was an alcoholic for many years until he was rushed to the hospital a few years back. He claims to have stopped but the damage is done. You can't do that shit to your body filters for that long and think your gonna live a long life. He looked HORRIBLE on stage.

Rest in peace. Probably liver gave out, he looks slightly yellowish and skeleton skinny. Even the scratching signals issues with liver. Or substances but he is pretty alert so doubt that.

I have a friend who has suffered from Crohn's disease about 17 years now. It's a chronic intestinal inflammation that among others things causes nutritions not to absorb into the body properly. At his worst, my friend looked just as skinny as Alexi does here. So I'm just guessing that Alexi may have had some kind of chronic intestinal illness, but it's up to his family if we will ever know the truth...

He looks here like my stepfather who suffered from cancer. He loved alcohol & died at home from liver damage. Drinking almost in every situation leads to structural changes of the epithelium that are transformed into squamous cell carcinoma 😭

Dang in his final years he looked as thin as Mick Mars he suffered a lot for sure RIP. I love his book when you look back on it it’s a mix feeling of formation of the band, and his life I’m on chapter fourth when it’s him, Jacks, Ale, Henkka and Janni the way they got in each member totally explains with no regrets if they fitted in or not Jaska had great connections with people he knew that’s what made em famous besides bein so talented

No the official cause of death isn't known. There's rumors about over all declining health due to alcoholism and stomach ulcers. Some say cancer but who knows. Here he's talking about how children of bodom had the biggest booze raider on their tours and how crazy the touring was. I missed part of the interview cause I read the comments. Still hard to believe he's gone. His death was on national news here, dude was loved for sure.

Yeah, i wish they didn't drink the amounts they did, but that changed in the later years right? It's crazy how a little finnish man can impact your life in a profound way simply through music, but he could and he did. He'll be remembered for sure.
