This is one of the finest Albums Sabbath made. Ozzy is great and I love his Sabbath stuff but Dio took it to another level.....check out "Lonely is the word " off this album. Sabbath like you have never heard them....really bluesy and the guitar solo is in Toni Iommi 's words his greatest ever solo.🤟
Hola, ahh yes. Dio-on my top 5 list of fave singers. A true banger here, such a joy to listen too. His vocal power is almost un-matched. Very recognizeable, glad y'all enjoyed it. Much love&respect❤✌🤘 ❤
Taylor Swift and Black Sabbath, lol. You are right Ethan, Dio is one of the best singers in the genre of rock/metal. He attributes his great breath control from playing Trumpet in High School. This is probably my favorite Dio era Black Sabbath song. This was the very first song Dio did with Black Sabbath. The story goes - Dio tells how this song became his welcome to the band: "I met them at the house that they were using to rehearse in and purely went to say hello and get to know them. I had no thoughts whatsoever of being in the band. As far as I knew, Ozzy was still in the band. During the conversation, Tony asked me if I'd like to see the studio they were doing their things in. He, Geezer and Bill picked up their instruments and started to play [what became] 'Children of the Sea' and I liked it very much. Tony asked me if I could do anything with it. I said, 'Give me a few minutes, I think I can knock something out.' We pretty well wrote the song that quickly." Other Dio era Sabbath to do - Lady Evil, Heaven and Hell, The Sign of the Southern Cross, The Mob Rules Dio in Rainbow songs - Lady of the Lake, Gates of Babylon, Kill the King Dio Solo career - Gypsy, Caught in the Middle, Invisible, I Speed at Night, One Night in the City, Evil Eyes, Eat Your Heart Out
Great song! “The Sign of the Southern Cross” is my favourite Dio-era Sabbath song. I think you guys will like that one. Other Dio songs would be “Kill the King” or “Gates of Babylon” with Rainbow, or “The Last in Line”. Cheers!
“Children of The Sea” next to the title track , probably the best song on the album. Ethan I thought you guys did “Heaven and Hell”. It’s their masterpiece. I’m shocked you’ve never done any of him with Sabbath. Regardless as a early metal/rock enthusiast you couldn’t have a better year than 1980. Blizzard of Oz and Heaven and Hell both came that year. One banger after another. Also released : Motörhead (Ace of Spades), Iron Maiden. Judas Priest (British Steel), VH (Woman and Children First, Scorpions (Animal Magnetism) AC/DC, (Back in Black), Rush (Permanent Waves) Can anyone name a better year for releases?
We’ve done Neon Knights & Heaven and Hell. So that adds up to 3 Dio songs with Sabbath. Compare than to Ozzy, and we’ve done wayyy more songs with Ozzy singing -Ethan
IMVHO Black Sabbath was better than when Dio was there over Ozzie. My favorite Black Sabbath song EVER. Thanks RJD (RIP)😇 I still have the Heaven and Hell album on vinyl and there's not much left of this song on it. I played it over and over. Sorry dad, but Travis Kelce is hitting that.
Larry, you and I are similar ages and we have similar stories regarding getting into Maiden, albeit 40 years apart. 1982, I'm a sophomore in high school. My friend and I got tickets to see Maiden and the Scorpions. We went in sort of lukewarm to Maiden and really looking forward to The Scorpions. We came out of the show still liking The Scorpions but we were humming and singing Maiden songs. That next day I bought Killers and Number of the Beast.
If you haven't heard Mistreated live with Dio and Rainbow you're missing out. Dio's voice really shines and will erase any doubts that he can't hold notes live. Mattervof fact he's better live which is amazing. Please react to it. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Wishing Well, Sign of the Southern Cross, Mob Rules, Neon Knights, "I", Iver and Over. Loved the Sab4 but Dio was born to be in this band at this time.
Greatest vocalist of all time in my opinion for his stage presence and delivery although Fish from the old MN trillion runs him close.Classic tune never tire hearing it.Thanks
Hello there! I do like this one alot! Its definitely up there! And Larry it's okay to be a Swifter! She brought Chicago lots of money! Have a wonderful weekend! Oh and my brother loved Dio! Hes still singing!
@@66edougHello! I'm doing fine except for my back thanks to the cat. I hopefully will be able to get to the White Sox game tomorrow. Hope you have a great weekend!
Can't go wrong with the Dio era. Surprised you haven't reacted to any of Bruce Dickinson's solo stuff. Try Beast in the light w/Tribuzy Live. Bruce's vocals are killer! 🤘
You really should give Heaven and Hell another go. Dio said it was the best song he ever wrote. He tells stories like no other. Please try again. TY🤘🤘🤘
I think you should listen to one of Sabbath's new songs on their final studio album. "God is Dead?", it's called. Sadly, it's not the full OG lineup, as Bill Ward decided not to return if there was no contract that he could sign that agreed that he would be treated as an original member. Thus, they hired a new drummer for the album, and Ozzy's current drummer in his solo career, Tommy Clufetos, was the group's touring drummer. I know this because I saw Sabbath in concert during their 13 tour. My first and only Black Sabbath concert experience.
Listening to Mr. Dio since I am 12 yrs old, almost 50 by now. Would suggest to break out of the traditional songs and go with Ear in the Wall - fantastic song by the late Ronnie James Dio
As you probably gathered from previous episodes, I'm not a fan of Dio, but I did like the sound of this tune - apparently written by guitarist Tommy Iommi, and then Ronnie Dio added some words. The most bizarre thing on the Wiki page for this song is that it was recorded live at Deeside Leisure Centre on 20 May 1980, and this venue is located in Queensferry, Flintshire in North Wales, just out side the city of Chester on the English border. I worked several contracts on a utilities billing computer system at a company in Queensferry. Small world...
The Swifty comments were hysterical! Great reaction and song. Dio was definitely one of the best singers of all time! Take a look at the singers who performed at Dio’s funeral and maybe make a poll of music from those singer’s bands. Great vocalists! For more Dio maybe Stargazer or Strange Highways…
Thanks! We will definitely take a look at who was at the show. For now though, I’m just gonna drop this link here… ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m0tlDeKxwZ8.html -Ethan
@@fatherandsonreactions oh wow! Vintage Father and Son! Love this! What a classic! I need to go back to the beginning and see all of these reactions! Stargazer is fire! Ethan you were so young here!!! I love how Larry always speaks his mind! You guys are epic! Thanks for dropping the link!
Dio's first song he wrote and recorded for Black Sabbath. I know it's no Taylor Swift, but hey, who is? Try Sign Of The Southern Cross from their Mob Rules record.
This is a great song and another great reaction. It is indeed Tony Iommi on guitar and he is superb. I saw them on the tour for Heaven and Hell and back then he liked to play 15 - 20 minute guitar solos which were great as they allowed you to go out to the bar at Hammersmith Odeon, have a couple of pints, go back in and he would still be playing the same solo - basically alcoholic bathroom songs🤘🍺😃 Other great songs from Heaven and Hell are Die Young and Lady Evil Their next one was Mob Rules and is, arguably, an even better album and it has one of the best heavy riffs ever in rock music in The Sign of the Southern Cross. Other standout tracks from it are Country Girl, Slipping Away and Falling Off the Edge of the World and are well worth checking out
If you haven't already done them, then check out Heaven And Hell or Neon Knights by Black Sabbath, Stargazer by Rainbow or Holy Diver by Dio. Just for the record, Dio is the name of the band put together by Ronnie James Dio, but a lot of people just refer to him as Dio, including Jack Black on the Tenacious D song, Kickapoo.
Well that’s funny, because we’ve done all 4 of them already! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wH4kPHFaUDE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-McQ9N9oA1Mo.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m0tlDeKxwZ8.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0u_Ush1d0Ak.html -Ethan
I have to admit I had no idea what a SWIFTIEDAD was, and hearing what it is I have to say that’s a good thing, lol. Have you heard anything of Dio with Rainbow, started by Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore. I think Stargazer is classic along with Light In The Black which is a longer largely instrumental jam. Man On The Silver Mountain would also be a good one.
Oh it's Taylor Swift , i was thinking it was a cold drink like a Slurpie , which would explain the 'cooler' part. is this where i put the lol or are u espose to know i'm kidding. drum intro "Well it's been a month since i seen my girl or a dime to make the call 'Cause it passed me up or passed me by or i couldn't decide at all And i'm mixed up , i'm so mixed up and don't ya know i'm lonely And i wish the world would get off my case and get on one of it's own Cold , Cold , Cold Cold cold cold That woman is freezin' , freezin' cold" Lowell George and Little Feat 1972
I can't really say about Dio and I've not heard this before. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought maybe it was Children of The Grave with the title confused. So check that out with Ozzie.
@@fatherandsonreactions Cake is an American rock band from Sacramento, California, consisting of singer John McCrea, trumpeter Vince DiFiore, guitarist Xan McCurdy, bassist Daniel McCallum, and drummer Todd Roper. The band has been noted for McCrea's sarcastic lyrics and deadpan vocals, and their wide-ranging musical influences, including norteño, country music, mariachi, disco, rock, funk, folk music, and hip hop. I know that your dad won't like it but you might. You are more open minded towards music. I don't think that it will resonate with your audience either. I love them and I literally have their entire Discography in my playlist. Oh, did I mention that they have a freaking TRUMPET in their band! Try Rainbow - Long Live Rock and Roll and Gates of Babylon. Also Neon Knights and Die Young fron this Sabbath Album. Also Sabbath's The Mob Rules. So many great songs in Dio's repertoire
Thanks for the recommendations Stefan! By the way, we’ve done Neon Knights already ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-McQ9N9oA1Mo.html -Ethan
Have i got a band for you guys. Super good band but never really made it big over here in north america. Praying mantis - children of the earth. You wont regret it. They opened for maiden before but due to internal strife with management they never made it big time. But you guys will love it!
If you watch the official video you may understand what Dio wrote about. It makes sense when you see it. Lovevyour Dio reactions btw. If you wanna hear an ass kicking song checkvout Mob Rules. Dio is phenomenal. The G O A T🤘🤘🤘🤘
i hear it too@@66edoug, and Ozzy is a no brainer. pun intended. "There's a big old goofy man Dancing with a big old goofy girl Oohh baby It's A Big Old Goofy World" if you guessed Prine you guessed right. and you get an assist.
