Children from the Snättringe school in Sweden perform at the WCP Ceremony at Gripsholm’s Castle in Mariefred, Sweden, in April 2017. The song is composed by the children themselves, for a play they wrote and produced based on the life stories of members of the World’s Children’s Prize Child Jury.
The World’s Children’s Prize (WCP) program is the world’s largest education initiative that empowers children as changemakers who stand up for compassion, the equal value of all people, the rights of the child, democracy and sustainable development. The program, that so far has reached 40,6 million children, is organised by the children themselves, the majority living in fragile states. Amongst the who’ve got behind the WCP as patrons are Malala Youzafsai, the late Nelson Mandela, Graça Machel and Desmond Tutu, the Prime Minister of Sweden, Stefan Löfven and Swedens Minister for children, Åsa Regnér.
