Since establishing the Climate Change Bureau in April 2020, Nasushiobara City has launched the Nasunogahara Green Project and carried out various initiatives to create a zero-carbon park in the Shiobara Onsen area, and in November 2022 the city was selected as one of decarbonizing preceding areas.
Numappara Marshland in Nasushiobara City, Tochigi Prefecture, which appears in this animation, is a subalpine marsh located on the western edge of the Nasu mountain range, 1,230 meters above sea level, where you can enjoy 230 types of seasonal plants throughout the year as you walk around the boardwalk trail. To preserve Nasushiobara’s lush nature for future generations, local residents work to protect plants in the marsh from damage caused by pests.
Weatherson’s music is reminiscent of the sounds of the quiet wind and flowering plants swaying in the misty marshland.

Weatherson
Born in 1999. Known for using experimental methods to create warm tones, Weatherson has released three albums, with several songs being selected for Spotify’s official “Ambient Japan” playlist. Various media outlets have cast a spotlight on the artist including Ryuichi Sakamoto, who introduced some of Weatherson’s music in his radio program RADIO SAKAMOTO. As well as being a solo artist, he is involved in an array of activities including writing music for audio books and other music production projects.

Yojiro Arai
Illustrator, animator, movie director.
Born 1989, originally from Saitama Prefecture.
In 2008, he worked on Studio Ghibli films such as Arrietty and The Wind Rises as an animator.
In 2012, he joined Studio Colorido and worked on Penguin Highway as character designer and director, and on Pokémon: Twilight Wings Episode 2 as storyboard artist and director. He has been working as a freelancer since 2020.
