Lo-Fi - or low fidelity music - is basically music that is recorded in lower sound quality or purposefully downgraded to sound like it is of low quality. Certainly, it is an aesthetic choice, a creative decision to make your music sound worse in order to make it sound better. Lo-Fi is all about that. It takes a lot of different forms and ranges from some guys making a band demo in the garage, mixtapes, or beats with sophisticated Jazz samples. Chillhop and Lo-Fi Hip Hop are very close and, in many people’s eyes, are almost indistinguishable. That being said Lo-Fi has a more grungy sound with a very prominent “downgrade” aesthetic while Chillhop uses “downgrade” effects more subtly and generally sounds more modern and clean as it has a more spacious feel to it. Which music works best for your brain and helps to improve academic performance? In the 1990s, there appeared a wide-known theory that listening to music, particularly classical music, makes people smarter. It was called Mozart Effect. And although after dozens of experiments one had to admit that it cannot be applied to everyone, people of science agree that the right connection between music and the brain can improve certain cognitive skills, especially concentration. We can be even more specific saying that, according to Stanford research, music moves the brain to anticipate events and sustain attention. Some scientists argue that in this sense classical music stays most beneficial. But tastes differ. If you don’t like classics, you may always turn to contemporary genres like lofi hip hop which also have suitable characteristics. The main success criteria here is finding a perfect tempo and vibe for the current task. For example, this chill beats playlist is fully packed to ensure complete focus and maximum enjoyment during a study session. Regardless of the discipline learned and the task at hand, these chill tracks will surely be a great asset for the process. The Lo-Fi radio with music for studying is made to serve as a background for your homework sessions, as well as an inspiration for your work. Soft beats found here won’t be a distraction from the studies, but a motivation for some extra productivity. So tune in, strive for greatness, and study together with us!

It's so crazy, Lo-Fi HIp Hop changed my life. Specifically you guys, ChillHop Music. Before I discovered this genre, I was closed minded, only listened to one type of music and shut out all the others. I didn't believe in myself, and was super insecure, now after I found this genre, everything changed. The art, the melodies, the whole vibe of this genre and chillhop is so amazing.
