Hey guys, so here’s my review on the Chilli Shortie from James Cheal. I ordered this one for Christmas on their website as a present.
I was interested to check it out, as it came 4th in Jack Robinson’s Stab In The Dark. The board felt good, but not amazing. I feel I should’ve purchased the shortie with a squash tail, instead of a round tail. I would recommend the round tail if you live somewhere with good waves and consistent punchy 3-6 ft surf. If not, buy the squash tail.

Would this be more user friendly for intermediate surfers in 2-5 feet waves with squash tail?

It would be easier to surf it in a squash, absolutely. I would prefer it I think if I was aiming to surf it in the 2-5 ft range.

Muito Obrigado meu amigo, I’m glad you’re enjoying the reviews. I want to try the Hot Knife 2 at some stage, but unfortunately I don’t get any boards sent to me from the companies or discounted, so it can be a little tricky to get new ones.

Probably meant for someone more advanced that knows how to surf on rail more and not so flat .

It’s not that mate, it’s a board that demands decent quality waves. Where I live, we don’t receive high quality waves often enough. It’s all preference when it comes to surfboards.

@@jakesboardreviewsI think the review would be very different if you were surfing chest high to overhead waves like a lot of reviewers like Noel salas surf. It tends to be like that for every board

@@foxgd88 I put every board to the test in most conditions, to reach an overall verdict. I don’t want to be like most reviewers, that’s not my goal.
