Most based Iron Warrior, Dantioch, when he told his primarch Perturabo, he was an asshole for using his troops as disposable fodder, was told the Primarch never wanted to see his face again, so he forged a helmet, and while still red hot, put it on to fuse to his head as punishment, and went on to side against his traitor father, and denied entire planets (accidently being the one to call the Tyranids to the galaxy) to his traitorous brothers, fighting and dying in the hands of his best friend, an imperial fist.

He probably wasn't the first to turn that becon on. The nids were probably already on route before the hearsay even started.

@@btf1287 Pretty much yeah, on a planet called Sotha, Dantioch sacrificed himself to destroy an arcane device called the Pharos to stop the Night Lords from using it, this ultimately lead the Tyranid Hive Fleets to our galaxy 10 millennia later

Perturabo was weak. That's why he joined Horus. He did it for his ego to prove how good he is. Rogal Dorn is the goat. He and his fists are what pertys emo boys could never be. Loyalty is its own reward. And the fists are the last to stand.

I mean... i kinda see their side of it.... Pertarabo was one of the best Prikarchs honestly. Always doing his duty, just wanting a lil of ole daddies love. Then in the heresy he was the only primarch not to go full idiot mode. No wonder he just left. Him and Magnus both kinda sad. The others are morons imo for turning. Thanks for watching with us Hya.

Iron warriors are the best traitor legion. They carried the crusade and the heresy. The Imperium was made on their backs and got nothing but contempt for their sacrifices. Iron does not serve a corpse

For those wondering why Perturabo became a demon primarch, there is actually an explanation in the books. Perturabo did actually study different texts on Chaos, but was unimpressed by the, well, chaotic and unpredictable nature of it; how his other brothers let Chaos control them, rather than using Chaos as a tool to control. He hypothesized that there Chaos could be moulded: where there was destruction, there could be forced order, where there was passion, there could be stoicism. There were other demons and concepts within Chaos, certain powers that while incredibly dangerous and impressive were overlooked by other cultists in favour of other mjaor powers. This is what makes Perturabo's ascension all the more impressive: he didn't let Chaos take him over, he wanted to expand upon it. Learn to control it, bring order to it, and maybe even go beyond just being a demon-prince: become a new god that represented the ideas of Order and Tyranny. This fits very well with Perturabo's character given what he saw of how Chaos changed and manipulated his brothers: he hated the Chaos Gods for destroy once-great and respectable brothers and turning them into savages, but he also knew how strategically viable Chaos magic could be if used correctly.

This speech is total BS. The Iron warrior keeps talking about the glory of the nameless footsloggers. The Iron 4th walked imperial army auxilleries into mine fields and gun encampments just to see where an enemy's defenses were strongest. Among mortal allies in the Crusade the 4th were called the Corpse Grinders for how they would expend human life for nearly no reason. They didn't care at all for the human soldiers deployed with them. They cared even less when Pertarabo came.

For me, it's pretty easy... Iron Warriors for being True Warriors who have perhaps the greatest potential out of the Chaos Legions Imperial Guard for being the average Joe, knowing he or she will die, but fighting against the tides anyways Orkz because honestly, they're awesome and have amazing lore. Tyranids because they are not 'good or evil' but rather a group of simple beings that follow their nature. Consume biomass, reproduce, evolve, and move on.

The thing about the Iron Warriors is that they are a classic example of the Unreliable Narrator. They BELIEVE that they have been mistreated and denigrated. The truth is that they and their Primarch Perturabo suffer from a crippling persecution complex. Perturabo would lead his Iron Warriors into the bloodiest campaigns in the galaxy, and would fight his enemies head-on in the hardest, most painful and most wasteful way possible, then would demand to know why no one was praising him and his warriors for their "sacrifice." They would intentionally do things in the most block-headed way possible, and afterward they were baffled and offended that no one was impressed by or sympathetic to the huge number of casualties they suffered in the process. Here's an excerpt from a novel where Perturabo is having a conversation with Calliphone (his adopted sister) as the Iron Warriors murdered their homeworld of Olympia: "Calliphone nodded. 'You are weak. Badly forged iron looks strong but is brittle as a dried reed. You never understood. People cannot be forced to live to an ideal, they must be led. People are messy, and more complicated than your most profound calculations. You would build a perfect world, realising at the final moment that its greatest mar were the people living within it. Now you would destroy them to save your creation. You are a marmoreal god, 'Bo, a tomb lord. You cannot achieve the impossible so you rage like a child, and now you have unleashed this horror upon us because you can accept no compromise.' A heavy shell exploded near the palace, shaking the windows. 'People do not listen,' said Perturabo. 'They do not know what is good for them.' 'People do not bow to you without love, without respect! Great tyrants rule with the blessing of their people, effective ones through fear. But no tyrant ever achieved anything through indifference. You have sulked your way to damnation. You refused to accept the love of the people. You were given the approbation of a god and an army to conquer the stars, and your first act was to decimate your Legion.' 'They had failed,' he said, clenching his fist. 'Failed to do what? Be the best? You waste your men to prove a point that needs no proof, and then grow angry when no one notices and praises your self-sacrifice. Your petulance has cost this planet whole generations of its youth, bringing your Legion up to strength again and again. You have been an absent king. You have not seen the empty schools, the haunted mothers, the husbandless women.' 'My brother Curze did worse,' said Perturabo. 'I have come to set things right, not to destroy everything as he did. This punishment for treachery must be borne, but I will rebuild Olympia.' 'Comparing yourself to the worst of your brothers to excuse the enormity of your own crimes,' said Calliphone. 'Listen to your words! Setting things to rights would be to cease recruiting and to hear the grievances of the people with forgiveness in your heart. Not this… massacre! You slaughtered the delegation that came to see you, brother. In that moment you lost You lost everything. This was a good place once. Bellicose and unfair, but it had its measure of beauty and nobility. You have destroyed all that. Why, brother?' 'I have other brothers now, my true siblings. I am not yours.' Calliphone wept, her tears tracking through the dust caking her face. 'And do they care for you as your family here did?' she asked. 'Dammekos never cared for me.' 'No, he only adopted you into his household, and raised you as his son.' 'A calculated risk. He used me for his own ends.' 'He reached out to you over and over,' she retorted. 'You are blind as you are selfish. All wrapped up in yourself, in your own brilliance, in your difference!' Her voice changed, becoming quiet. 'I cared for you.' 'What of it?' he said coldly. 'What good did the affection of mortals ever do for me?' 'You always thought yourself superior to those around you.' 'I am,' he said plainly. 'Look upon me, foster sister. I was made by the Emperor of all mankind, one of twenty sons forged to conquer the galaxy. You are withered, yet I am young. Of course I am superior.' Calliphone threw up her hand and looked away. 'What happened to the man I knew who wished for no more war? The boy who drew such wonderful things?' 'Nobody wanted them,' he said. 'The Emperor uses me for the most thankless tasks. My men are thrown against the worst of horrors, given the most gruelling roles. We are divided, our talents ignored, our might reduced to splitting rock. My father ignores me. My men go unsung. Our triumphs are unremembered. My brothers mock me as my men bleed. Nobody cares.' 'Is that so?' she said. 'Let me present a different hypothesis to you, brother. Use that fine mind of yours to judge its worth. Here is my version of the story - the Emperor of all mankind came here and found a son whom he valued. He saw an indomitable will, with unshakable determination. He recognised that you would not give up, that you would rise to best any difficulty, that the tedious to you is as necessary a challenge to overcome as the glorious, and neither are to be shirked. Seeing these qualities in you, your father set you difficult tasks, not because he saw no value in you, but the exact opposite - he can trust no one else to get them done.' 'That is not true,' said Perturabo, though the acid of uncertainty began to eat at him. 'He underestimates me. They all do.' Calliphone went on. 'For a long time, I thought you a fool to follow the Emperor. After all, he is a tyrant like all the rest. Look what he has done to you, I thought. He has brutalised you, and your wars have brutalised your home. But the truth is, brother, I have followed your campaigns carefully, and I noticed a pattern that disturbed and then alarmed me. Always you do things the most difficult way, and in the most painful manner. You cultivate a martyr's complex, lurching from man to man, holding out your bleeding wrists so they might see how you hurt yourself. You brood in the shadows when all you want to do is scream, 'Look at me!' You are too arrogant to win people over through effort. You expect people to notice you there in the half-darkness, and point and shout out, 'There! There is the great Perturabo! See how he labours without complaint!' 'You came to this court as a precocious child. Your abilities were so prodigious that nobody stopped to look at what you were becoming.' She got shakily to her feet. Exoskeletal braces whirred under her skirts. 'Perturabo, this will anger you, but you never truly grew into a man.' 'I am not a man,' he said. 'I am far more.' 'In those words is the poison that spoils your potential. It is not the Emperor who has driven this world into rebellion. It is not he who has held it back. It is you and your woeful egotism. Let me tell you, my brother, you who affects to despise love so much yet must certainly crave it over all other things, you are the biggest fool I have ever met.'"

The 4th legion is my legion. I share much in the ways of the legion, used by many for their own ends. Discarded and used as a scapegoat, never valued for whom I am. Granted I haven't been into the military, not yet anyways. But my life was always about resolve in every aspect. My life is similar to Perturabo's, and when I read the stories. Heard his tales. All I saw in the reflection was me. Not in vanity, but to strive to be awknowledge for the things I have done, to be told thank you. Thrown in the crucible of life again and again and again. And expected to understand and be the best, to do the best. And do it without complain, only compliance. Iron within. Iron without

Not to demean ya, but that is a very worrying statement to make, Perturabo is not an ideal person to equate yourself to, he was used by his father and brothers, yes, but he was also, a vain, petty and pointlessly bitter jealous man who chose to turn traitor, because he doesn't think he would be redeemable over purging a planet of seccesationists.
@BryantVonMiller
@BryantVonMiller Год назад
@@MrHellsing76 Very true and I didn't want to put too personal stories of my life and why I relate to Perturabo, and I hope I am not vainglorious as he is. And how petty he is. And its not demaning, and I thank you for showing leniant respect. And wasn't Olympia near purged, since it was his home system, with an adopted sister of his. And he went way over the deep end.. Right after he had suffered very dangerous, mortal blows of age acceleration weapons. And was despondant? Thats just an aside, I can't fully remember everything of the Iron Warriors history, its been awhile.
