@@bakarah495 it's called freezing rain because irs the exact perfect temperature to come down as rain and then freeze when it touches a surface. Yes it is just ice, but frozen rain gets the point across for this specific kind of ice effect better :)
@@kayzeegirl972 haha I’m the exact opposite! Former Arizonan, living in New York now. First snow storm of my life, what a crazy experience it is to see
“Didn’t you cross analyze the 3 local weather stations and compare with the last 5 years of data with compensation for recent cold fronts and humidity fluctuations? You should have woken up earlier”
I believe it. I'm from Chicago and I'm 60 so I've seen more than a few ice storms. I personally snapped my windshield wiper off but that's easy enough to do. I watched somebody snap off their side view mirror.
Yeah I live in Chilliwack and it's a roughly small place with like 2-3 other cities or towns around it. And there was a lot more ice the next few days.
@@x-x101 then you may get a pass for a week but they dont care if a snowstorm is going on, you’re scheduled and this is “regular weather conditions for our area”
@@sourflowerpack9610 where is this regular? I live in Florida but I may have to flee from the masses of people who all suddenly want to live here and drive rent prices through the roof
This is from freezing rain. It needs to be hovering just around 0°C for this to happen with a few degrees lower to make it really stick around. So this is seen when the temperatures are actually not that cold. Saw this a lot growing up next to the ocean in Eastern Canada.
Given em too much credit. Most people don't realize how far south most canadians really live in relation the the northern united states. This is a regular thing is Oregon
@@farticles04 you’d be surprised how cold it is even in southern provinces. really what changes the temperature is the west and east due to the oceans, and most Canadians live in the east where it’s colder
@@LittlePawPup I live in Northern Ontario (I’m from the East Coast where blizzards were a common event) and right now we’re swinging from -15°C to -35°C but it’s not uncommon for us to go lower than -40°C with the windchill around -50°C. The last couple weeks we’ve been constantly getting weather alerts of extreme cold and/or extreme temperature swings. Really takes a toll on my migraines. But I’d rather -40°C any day than +40°C. I hate the heat. Unfortunately we get boiling summers too where I live, but I’m very thankful for A/C then, lol

OMG ! That looks so inconvenient but to tell you the truth it looks so clear and beautiful . Thank God that we don't have this here in Bangalore . The weather here is just tooo good compared to other states and countries . Would you believe me if i say i never saw snowfall or ice in my 15 years of huge life !! Anyway my father would never be able to survive here if it would have snowed here , we once travelled to masuri spending 1 and a half day and unfortunately we didn't get to see snow but it was too cold . We were able to stay there but because of my dad we came back , we didn't even stay there for a day , he was like " so this is how it feels to freeze to death 🥶 " 😂
I’ve been there. My approach is to hit it with the side (meaty part) of a closed fist. This allows enough pressure to break the ice without potentially damaging the car in any way. It’s tempting to use sticks or the scrapers, but you risk putting dents and/or scratches in your paint
Yeah I’m a dummy, my first experience with ice similar to this and I used the ice scraper on my actual car and scratched the paint in multiple spots 🥴 idk what i was thinking
