@@TomokosEnterprize Yes sooo often thats the case, nice looking logging show though, nice stand of timber, sounds like the powers that be are still taking the bulk of profits then...Have a good one...
ok another multiple comment .comment first the drone video as always awesome the bunching wow maybe somday I will get to log a unit like that but have issue with prossesing fisrt he didn't block road second all his ends are even third even the chip pile looks nice and forth no waste used every bit of tree nice job setting loader up for success hope the operater sees this comment we need more processor guys like you stay safe get logs
The machinery is great, and the Cat's computer records volume per log length as it processes each piece, and 'radios' it to the mill inventory. And men are out of work, often for good. I watched a simmilar feller/processor show on Vancouver Island and the guy who showed me around said "There are eight men in town with no jobs now. True, the company makes more profit, but SOMEONE will be paying for those unemployed men who were making good coin, and for their families; and in the end, the company will be paying some of that cost, indirectly." Worth thinking about.
@@chickenknucklez2604 as is the nature of mankind as a whole. The question is in my mind is, what are we doing all this for if it stops working for the average man, and starts working against him?
@@JohnDoe-pi3po what don't you get? More money less bullshit! Clearly I'm in it for the money and nothing beats production like a machine, you can only bring the horse to the water so many times before you say fuck this horse and drop a 12 gauge slug into its head. You either wanna work or you don't, figure it out that's you're problem not mine
@@chickenknucklez2604 Oh no, I get it, and it's not really a problem - yet. Inevitably though someday the feller buncher won't need a driver, and without drivers you no longer have need for dispatchers, and so on and so forth. Someday it won't be "do you wanna work," it's gonna be "is there enough work left for you"
I believe Chilton uses several fallers but usually on steep ground. The safety risks and Labor and Industries rates make it very difficult to use hand fallers.
Blue Line Land Works thanks for the response. I run a side on eastern side of the state. For whatever reasons in my area the forestry dept has us bring in handfallers for oversize and we are banned from double cutting oversized with feller bunchers. There was a previous incident that caused the ban, but seems like everywhere else it's ok to do still lol Take care.
I tried going to the Clinton Logging website . But it seems like they don’t have a website . I’m interested in being a choker setter for that company ! How do I apply for the job ?
The bottom of the saw has ski’s on it, no problem using bottom of head to turn. The head manufacturers do not recommend using the horns to lift machine to assist turning, good way to bend the horns and its highly inefficient, wasting fuel doing motions for nothing.
Come a Little Closer, tree, I won't do you no harm I'm just another creature here, a single Mighty arm I can't grow tall and green like you, I really am quite dumb Don't have no feet to run away, don't even have a thumb Oh, I can't believe you fell for that What have you got on top? I guess I'll find out shortly When I grab and skin and chop I hope there's no hard feelings When you're a hardwood floor And tell your little brother I'll be coming back for more I'm the bully of the forest I'll eat you, heart and soul I won't even chew you I'll just swallow you whole!
Why have 3 machines in one place when you can have a harvester processor and a forwarder take it down and it's more cost and environmentally friendly cuz i can't imagine having three machines working on the same place is going too be so nice for the wallet....
3 machines will move twice the volume of timber compared to harvester/ forwarder set ups. Awesome video! Awesome timber! Wish I was falling wood like that!
that buncher operator was painful to watch....open the frigging arms when the tree starts to go in the right direction!!! Very very hard on the machine holding onto those big trees.
Sorry this is not the right way to cut nice big trees.I am a pro in this kind a wood.Just say- - you just tilt the head a bit and let go the tree that it and you on your way to cut the next one,,,,and double cut it only 1 cut on each side it little bit faster and easy on the head and the operator...have fun from bc canada
Why not bring a cut to length harvester and a Forwarder in there. Can´t understand americans and their bunchers/skidders/processers. Seems stupid to skid all the limbs and tops to the deck and accumulate the organic matter there or have to transport it back out with the skidder.
Wayne Doe we burn the organic matter and most forwarders i have seen are not designed for 40 foot logs. Also most of the timber we have seems to be much larger than what the cut to length machines are handling.
Ok thank you for your answer. I didn`t realize you are cutting 40 foot logs and such big timber. But I saw it in your video after I commented. There are cut to length machines out there that can cut timber like that and suitable forwarders for this application, but in this case buncher + skidder + processor seem like the most suitable machines.
The waste is easiest to deal with piling and burn it. Nowdays it is concentrated along side the road a log length from the processor working. I piled the slash in pyramids or really high lines. As soon as they left the block I would light the piles in mid to late winter.
