UPND must last longer than one term because if they go I am concerned the gains made in the mining industry will be reversed and our economy will continue to suffer. I don't care which party governs I am only interested in improved standard of living for Zambians.

In every democracy there are regions where particular parties are dominant and strong. It takes the "weaker" parties in those areas to work extra hard to win vote from there. For example, in the UK, the Labour Party is strongest in the North and unpopular in the South. So they hard to work extra hard to convince the South to vote for them. Same in America, the so-called bible belt leans more towards Republicans than the Democratics. In all the cases, there are reasons for the inclinations. Ours is tribe, the UK and America is class. The responsibility of the politicians is not to devide those groupings but to present their arguments and convince the electorates that they will be cared for regardless. In Zambia, we are very far away from real democracy.
