This video was taken at st. louis zoo on Saturday 10/13/12. A raccoon had somehow gotten into the Chimpanzee exhibit and were having a lot of fun with the raccoon. All video is owned by me and taken by me. Copyright 2020
Tossing that raccoon spinning in the air so far and so fast with such little effort put in really demonstrates just how insanely strong Chimpanzees are.
Literally looked for them while at school once I got to h.s those fights were vicious even now thinking back unfortunately two ppl hitting each other inflicting pain upon one another is cause for great attention from those who know no better then to just observe and speculate rather then stop or do something other then watch with popcorn laughing because it’s not you
People did learn from nature. That's what evolution is. It's precisely why we are so powerful and also why we are so fucked up. There are no rules of meaning to be found in the laws of nature. It is our job to create them.
@@raptorskilltor4554we technically are still animals in the more common sense throw a group of people on a deserted island two things happen 1. They all die immediately 2. Cannibalism is soon to come if you give a human a reason such as ( death pain or eaten by something else ) their natural response will be like one of an animal that’s just how genetics and evolution works you can be as intelligent and strong as you can be but primal fears are always there
Humans are animals too. and we being primates are closely related to them if I'm not mistaken. I don't know a lot about animals but primates just seem the most dangerous and sadistic to me. I'd rather encounter big cats in the wild than a bunch of primates.
Imagine trying to escape a bunch of giant monsters with all their points put into strength and dexterity, then you begin to realize how screwed that racoon is.
Ya, i dont understand why the dude in the video is laughing so hard at another animal fighting for its life. Not even for food or survival. Just chimp entertainment.
I mean, pretty sure it died. So yeah. Imminent mortal danger. They still had a hold of it so good chance they ripped it to pieces and possibly ate it. Even *IF* it got away, it's probably going to die as a result getting tossed like a rag doll. That impact broke some bones for sure. Ruptured organs, probably. Honestly impressed it managed to get up and make a break for it, it looked hurt and dazed. Adrenaline is a hell of a drug I guess.
@@PumpkinHoard The raccoon escaped safely. Also, that fall didn't do anything to him. Just like cats, raccoons are pretty good at falling. Your comment just screams ignorance lol.
@danielscissorhands I Googled it just now.....According to two articles I read, both articles said that the raccoon was okay & made it's escape from the chimps' enclosure. (The 2 articles were on WTOL (news station out of Toledo, Ohio) and ABC30 (news station out of Fresno, California.)) It happened in Oct 2012, at the zoo in St. Louis, Missouri.
@@aalianakbar I wonder how common it is for raccoons to venture into such an exhibit because you're right...one video is said to have taken place at the KC Zoo and the other in the St. Louis Zoo.
Chimpanzees: *literally the most aggressive and violent of all the primate species, known to be omnivores that even practice cannibalism.* The people in the background pre racoon yeet: "aww so cute!"
From what I've seen from all of these RU-vid videos, people at zoos don't seem to be very smart. Giggling and awing at everything like the chimps that they mimic.
I'd argue humans take #1 for most violent of the primate species but certainly not surprising that one of the closest animals to us would be so violent lol
People seeing a raccoon at a zoo: *"Poor thing, let it go."* People seeing a raccoon in their back yard: *"Somebody kill that stinkin' little trash pirate!"*
I hope it is true that he escaped; but he is definitely dead today, raccoons have a life expectancy of two to three years, and the video was recorded 10 years ago.
@Sarah J they're stupid and terrible people because chimps are Vicious cruel things and they will rip apart even their own family members if they get angry let alone some annoying raccoon who probably got decapitated after the camera stopped recording.
@@ochoforreals i dont think that that is the point of a zoo. You pay to see animals NOT watch them murder another animal. Amazing what money can do to people these days
Please for the love of God. I watch this video every single day crying my eyes out. The cruelty of this world baffles me. The link would stop my suffering.
bro this could have gone so wrong so quickly its wild also just imagine crawling into a new environment to then get picked on by giant monsters whilst the god’s are talking about you in incoherent tongues
That raccoon doesn't know how lucky it is. If these were chimps in the wild, that raccoon would be torn apart and they'd all fight over who gets the best parts.
Yhea if it was a wild chimp group thing blood would show up really fast... This captivity chimps prob dont know what to do so theyll probably play around with it untill it dies and then wont even eat it
It’s really not sad. Racoons do no good and are heavily overpopulated. If you kept chickens or small animals on land you’d understand these cause lots of problems
@@user-jw5qb9ez1p idk but the last time i checked humans do no good either, they are just trying to survive just like us and there is not really a reason why we are "better" than them, we happen to be at the top rn i just think is stupid to asume we will always be
@@Alanixs2242 As humans, we should be on top. These little critters won't be making power plants and smart phones anytime soon . We did more in a year for civilisation than any of these little buggers did in 100,000 years. We show mercy and benevolence to these critters, but if any of them tries something against us, we vote them out of their ecosystem.
Dude ofc, people consider cats and dogs as pets. Basically everybody consider raccoons as some sort of pest - it's all about the soceity perception (which obv is shitty)
@@kiteooo1652 Go ahead ahead a start killing cats and see if they don't put your ass in jail, at least here in the USA. People invest their time and money in their pets and that would make killer raccoons a problem. I have never had a pet, but I was just making that point.
I would have been more upset with the person who introduced a dog or cat into the enclosure seeing as, I'm pretty sure, neither of those are as mobile as a raccoon.
