With mosquito nets and mindful behavior (keeping the doors closed and lights out when they’re open) I guess you won’t have a problem. At least it won’t be worse than for people living near swamps or lakes
My dream is to work with this. I am going to start a PHD in terrestrial ecology (data from forests and sensors) and I hope I can ever use what I learn in projects like these. It is hard this can replace forests but I want to study this more in depth.
Yeah isn't this building reported wayback as a failure? Coz people are leaving coz of Mosquitoes and residents don't bother trimming the plants so it grows too much.
@Impractical Jokers Fan People like you are defaming INDIA than showing your so called patriotism😤 Live let live: Father of my nation "Mahatama Ghandhi"
This is the classic problem in China, where people buy homes as investments, like many people have second or third home as assets, and they don't live in them I wonder why it doesn't become obligatory to maintain their own garden or having monthly fees for garden maintenance, but maybe that'll increase the cost and tenants might not come, but they can't help but to build and some people buy it anyway
@@sonicusr no, they don’t consume bugs as a norm, it’s quite peculiar! As a matter of fact, natives don’t buy from those places that sell bugs, it’s only an attraction for tourists. It’s more likely to happen in some Southeast Asia countries.
@@veenibik336 No it's in Shanghai and Beijing lol, I've been there and the locals love eating bugs, it's cool. Tourists are always reluctant and don't want to do it, but sometimes they do. The Chinese love eating bugs.
Is this the apartment that got many complaints about the mosquitoes and excessive growing of plants?? I've seen video somewhere about this kind of apartment that got some troubles.
mosquito is the least of their problem. tree roots and moisture will shorten the lifespan of the concrete the architects didn't take into account tree maintenance will be a big problem.
@F it is a Chinese creation, just as the location in Italy is probably an Italian creation. No one said nor implied that the concept itself was a Chinese invention. Your bias is showing.
It seems like a dream come true. But it says on 2: 10 "Only about 10 households have reportedly moved in since the project launched". The project launched in 2018. The problem with the insects must be Huge, for no one wanting to live there.
This is literally all I've ever wanted. So freakin' beautiful. I can see how there are quite a few problems to be addressed though. Man, I wish I was smart. I'd love to try making smaller versions of these. You can filter and store air in the cooler underground temperatures. You can utilize the ground for parks to reduce the area's temperature. You can turn wider rooftops into vertical gardens that the community can access for food. All while strategically placing solar and wind for renewable energy. Won't happen. But it's nice to dream.
Yeah. And the reports on that one was the horrible experience the previous residents have there (mostly about mosquito problems). Many of them left the place due to the same reason :/.
I am shocked that people in comments complaining about mosquitos... Now I know who want to destroy all the trees in the cities. Just use freaking mosquito nets and repelent. Plus it's tropics - mosquitos will be there anyway...
If the scenery is beautiful and interesting, why do you make annoying music with it as if we are in a soccer field and deprive us of the calm that gives us contemplation and serenity of the soul.
They are testing a strain of mosquito that expresses a gene only in females (the female pregnant at mosquito is the only One that bites people)- I understand that this was the biggest concern with this community limiting occupancy and interest. I think it would be wonderful if they were to release or imply this here as an initial test since there are not many residents and the housing price is low to begin with. This could make a breakthrough in many communities and countries if it is successful.
The only thing im worried about, is the quality because of how fast chinese citizens build spyscrapers and the fact that the building is infested with mosquitos so most are vacant 😳😳, and wasnt this building reported wayback as a failure? Because people are leaving because of Mosquito infestations and residents don't bother trimming the plants as they grow too much.
Oh right. They had lots of such kind of failures and errors. But Recently built green apartments made considerable improvements on problems you mentioned. Hope We might be able to see more urban green buildings which has a quality and secured function. Cuz building cities more green is now inevitable for many reasons.
So, basically, charge something like an HOA fee to trim the plants of the people that just made this an investment property… like so many properties in China and everywhere…
Wait didn't SCMP just run another video a couple of months ago about another vertical Chinese garden city where the residents were hating it because of the lack of maintenance for the overgrown vines and bugs.
Plant a few carnivorous plants and bobs your uncle, triffid farm! Seriously though it’s a fab idea, they just need to work on figuring appropriate types of foliage to use.
Most of these apartments are vacant so there is no one to maintain the vegetation. it can quickly become overgrown and house insects instead of people. I get the concept but it is an ultimate fail.
I heard many of these condos are vacant cause of the pests that they attract. Should of invested some time researching natural repellant herbs, plants, and others that reduce pests and allergies and such
