Nah. Fascist and authoritarian Regimes don't function by exploiting peoples stupidity. Their ideology is aimed at exploiting human social behaviour. You could be EXTREMELY intelligent, but if you are not DISAGREEABLE enough, you will just go along with any stupid idea that your peers push on to you regardless, because there is nothing worse to us humans than being socially shunned or isolated. So when a neighbor says something anti-state, both the intelligent and the less intelligent person will report them, because they both instinctively know the cruel consequences of being excommunicated. It's death by the way. You can look at people in higher education right now. They are all part of the woke hive mind. OBVIOUSLY their ideology is extremely flawed and stupid, but these intelligent people are just as likely to fall prey to these corrupting Ideologies as everyone else.
intelligent people, is not Toe roganie// ... see how he said a bunch of things, like its fact, then looked over at jamie and said ''see if thats true?'' in this case, it turns out it was MICE who were getting smarter, not children, and the study stated it MAY have a positive impact on childrens school work (which then toe goes ''DUH'' like he knows what the hells going on) .. he regularly spews a bunch of bullshit, like its all facts, but then - things end up being totally false, misinterpreted, or straight up WRONG... thing is, majority of people on earth do this, but not everyone has the number one pod cast in the world, where he has literally MILLIONS of young kids, those of whom are being influenced by his information (or disinformation) - I just think he should be thinking more before he goes out on a whim and talks about things he hasn't got a clue on what it is hes talking about.
That’s not true at all. The US brought over hundreds of thousands of the smartest minds from all over the world in the 20th century. It’s good for productivity. Being intelligent doesn’t make you immune to manipulation. Having a dumb populous is a huge disadvantage when you have major geopolitical rivals threatening your hegemony
He says it made them "much smarter", but it's not actually known what the effects will be on those kids' cognition or health yet. It literally says that in the articles listed

Nah, by this time they've probably already created an army of 148+IQ kids. Like everyone with half a brain would, even more so if you got the more successful and superior approach of society over individual.
This is not true there is no data on the children and the scientist just disappeared the kids probably didn't even survive. Chinese government fucked up, this technology was not ready for this type of application.

Joe is being an idiot. The Chinese doctor in question was trying to give two fetuses immunity to HIV from their father, they prolly already had. The experiment failed. The doctor was shadowed until the heat died down. That started the mRNA Gold Rush. How the fuck are they testing infants' IQs? This first experiment was 5 years ago!! Now 84% of Americans who are willing to let the State sterilize their kids will get them with BRAIN FOG and WEAK HEARTS. Joe just DOOMED a whole generation. He must have thought it was T-Juice.
You know rightly first thing any government would do is to see how it could be weaponised USA trials out everything two years or so before it goes out to the public
@couchpotatoes5158 Wouldn't the companies have an incentive either way? The fact that it's not out yet has no bearing when crispr is still a threat to pharmaceuticals.
@@couchpotatoes5158 You would be surprised how much more lucrative sick people are to pharmaceutical companies compared to healthy people. Or, perhaps, you shouldn't be surprised. They have a lot of incentive$ in preventing a society where people are perpetually healthy from coming about.
I doubt it, he probably tricked govt and used it to research on iq, i believe that makes much more sense, since if china indulged in those activities they would be sanctioned since that is an imoral experiment, differently from some HIV treatment, we would not let them continue and they could not coexist with that person.. yk what im sayin..
The thing is they knew what he was doing because he had to apply for grants. I went down a google rabbit hole about this a few years ago and the more I read, the more the whole story just seemed bizarre. There were things hypothesized about the CCR5 receptor before the doctor's research so the jury is still out if they were actually after HIV or chasing something else.
The thing w CRISPR is they can Edit the genes that for cells that are either mitosis cells or meiosis cells. What this means is that if mitosis cells are edited that that person can live with altered genes and those genes will not be passed down to their children, the edited genes stay with the person until that person dies (this is because mitosis is when a cell splits into an identical version of that cell) when the meiosis genes are edited then the edited genes can be passed on to the person’s children which would alter the gene pool for all humans (this is because the meiosis genes relate to sexual reproduction) so once those genes enter the gene pool they stay forever they will not die with the person but will be passed on. I believe that’s why the person was sent to “jail” because the meiosis genes were altered with crispr not the mitosis genes. Crispr is actually really interesting and could help a lot of people with health issues but yea also it’s a real big ethical issue. I only know all of this bc I researched it for a biology presentation I made in college fall of 2019. I recommend doing your own research since I think crispr will become more relevant as time passes (I hear people talking about it more and more since I made my presentation lol)
We can't have many too smart people or they would see through gubmint bulls**t. They need us docile and controllable. That's why he got allegedly put in jail.
Interesting but isn't the cells which undergo meiosis made from mitotic division, you should mention that alteration at particular cells of body after the zygote have undergone differentiation will not affect the future generations.
He was jailed because he did not do it ethically. It's a new technology and we don't know its full implications. This guy took it upon himself to test it on human embryos. Even if his intention is good, he took a huge risk and we still don't know if the babies will grow without significant side effects.

Then it will be big time karma for them later because they do not know the side effects of this procedure. I would bet that that gene has a purpose in the human body. If there were only upsides to deleting it and no downsides, there's a 99% chance that evolution would have already removed that gene for us.
It’ll be non-stop organ transplants, aka harvesting, then bc once you start to alter certain sequences, there are unexpected … “reactions, “ to put it mildly. Just know that one gene doesn’t just control one aspect and there is no way for someone to know what a snippet of a gene sequence controls. Just like pharmaceuticals, you eliminate one issues but cause a whole slew of things.

@@markmark5269 As horrible as it is to calculate suffering, American children living in poverty are merely a byproduct of the massive income imbalance between the rich and poor. This gene editing technology on the other hand is almost certainly going to contribute to making that gap far larger.
Please hear me out. I’m a red blooded conservative American-I also went to college. The first research paper I ever wrote was about HIV. It was about this gene CCR5, and the “Berlin patient” who helped scientists identify the gene. CCR5 gene encodes a cell membrane protein that forms a pore and tunnel and is the selective route HIV takes to enter human immune cells. Even in 2012 when I did this rudimentary freshman research, the source papers were a few years old, CRISPR had already been tested, and they had recommended that it was possible with CRISPR or other technologies to modify humans’ DNA to eradicate HIV, simply by adjusting one gene, CCR5. In good faith, over a decade ago, this means of eradicating HIV was a known hypothesis needing testing. I think this was science done in good faith, despite it being done in China, and a secondary result occurred which was unexpected. At the time I studied this they had not determined other functions of CCR5, but knew that humans with naturally-occurring mutations in CCR5 lived normal lifespans and were otherwise considered “normal.” If you are surprised by the science, don’t be. This one’s been in the works. The surprise is the intelligence bump and the concern is Chinese gov manipulation of the scientist.
@@airvent6199 First thanks for your genuine opinion, rare on social media. Not all of course, but still many. this man in the video is talking non sense about their inteligence and skills the babies still very young to be properly evaluated and above of that the genetic modification that was really introduced was not that the researcher intended, the researcher was trying to mimic a natural mutation in the CCR5 gene to make a stop codon in the gene but instead he introduced a frame shift of the gene which means he displaced the genetic sequence that could affect all the genes located in the vicinity of that Gene so we don't understand yet the consequences of his trial, what he did is really dangerous on them

Just stories. The guy already got out of prison and has now a new lab in Beijing, still tackling rare genetic deseases. He was sentenced simply because he broke the law. His work did help the two new born babies whose parents were both carring HIVs, but altering human genes is lawfully forbidden so his team members and him were all sentenced to prison. Obviously the state recognised the value of his work, so they allowed him to re-open a new lab and lienced him to keep working on things legally. However, there is still a huge debate on wehter we should allow embryos to be genetically modified or not. Anything that can drastically improve human lives would contain the potent effect of the exaxt opposite.
The question is, what will happen if practically all humans reproduce freely and survive? Wouldn't there eventually come a point where people are so badly off genetically that it becomes increasingly difficult to have children and be healthy?
People forget that the working memory i.e. things you can constantly hold in your brain for a sustained period of time, is only like 90 seconds straight. Normally your brain is taking stuff in and if you don't need it immediately it puts it into storage, except like all storage it doesn't come out in perfect condition. But if Crisper could give you a longer working memory of let's say 5 minutes, then anything you could work on could be retained in real time for far longer. So instantly all the small inconveniences of life disappear, you never forget where you left your keys or what your wife was talking about in her story. Multitasking would be far more effective because you would be able to remember things for longer. This tech can really change the world if we master it.
