@Allen S I think that one of the first priority in the US would be to build enough public toilets in US cities: in 2017, there were 25,000 complaints for people defecating in San Francisco streets. Human waste in the streets is a growing problem: spreading of decease and illnesses are usually related to this situation.

There is always bureaucracy, no matter where you are. Even in North Korea there is bureaucracy. It is both efficient and also inefficient, an interesting paradox to consider. Without it, the government would be extremely disorganized. With it, things take longer to get done but are well ordered.

It works like a corporation. They all work to the same direction, for good or bad. India politic parties don't have the same power in the bureaucratic system.

Hyper didn't really develop much in China. Traditional Subway system and High Speed rail way are the way. Subway is enough city sized transportation, while the high speed railway is efficient for intercity transportation. Hyperloop is just too energy-intensive. Maybe in the future when Nuclear fusion solve the Global Energy problem, hyperloop will be possible. The existing transportation simply outperform the hyperloop by too large a margin. No need for Hyperloop.

I don't have any special insight). It seems like the "real economy" and continuous expansion and refinement of the industrial technology you have now is working and will work further! That's my idea as an unemployed engineer in the US. China isn't made out of 5G and paying for things with your PHONE, it's made out of concrete and steel and glass and electricity! But if everyone in the west is walking around staring at their phones, I think you want this in China too, for political reasons. I can understand this, but I don't think that's where the magic is. (I got this idea at a NASA conference of all things. Discussing the decline of our space program with a senior NASA Engineer. He said "We only went into Space because we didn't want the Russians to have it"! )

(US and Europe combined have less than 1 billion people.) Tbh, as a person who spent a lot of time studying in USA, I can say from my experience, living in China is much more comfortable than living in USA(Assuming you are an ordinary middle class) USA really got a lot of things to fix now, either politics or its economy, or just its infrastructure. China now is just building infrastructures like a madman. These infrastructures in turn fuel the economy to keep going forward and also made ordinary people's life much easier. Despite what a bad situation is the US-China relationship, I still very much wish the USA and China can corporate much better in the future, for both countries' own sakes.

@megakids : Because if you're grown up in the west and fed with mostly negative "facts" about China it's difficult to grasp the mentality of the Chinese (and also some other Asian countries) and absorb all fantastic results in each and every field of science China is doing.
