China Accuses U.S. of Creating Asian NATO 

China has accused the US of attempting to create an asian version of NATO, following a speech by US defence secretary Lloyd Austin at a security forum in Singapore. The comments came from a top Chinese general who accused the US of being a “source of chaos and tension” in the inso-pacific region, undermining stability and provoking confrontation.
Clearly marking the current level of hostility and mistrust between the Washington and Beijing, the statement follows a striking series of military drills, new agreements, and proposals for further security cooperation between the US and its allies in the Indo-pacific, as well as the increasing deployment of US weapons in allied countries.
