@@ladytyphon7261 then fly singapore air. apart from a hijacking incident (which was totally out of their control) on the tarmac several decades ago, they did NOT loose any of their planes before. it is relatively safe and if you go above economy, their service is top notch.

The prepared food looked pretty good (prosciutto and smoked salmon = surprisingly fancy!) but I was shocked by the big ol Snickers bar! I’ve never gotten name brand candy on a flight before haha

When I am on a long flight like this, I call the airline early and order a special meal... like low carb or something. I get served first. Then, if I am still hungry, I ask the flight attendant if I can have a regular meal (if I am still hungry)... and 99% of the time, it's no problem. I usually give my flight attendant a Toblerone chocolate bar at the beginning of the flight... never hurts! Love me some TJ... thanks, gril!!

I'm a Japanese person who loves China Airlines. I use it often. We use Taoyuan Airport transit to destinations such as the United States, Canada, France, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.

How comfortable were the headphones, and were they active noise canceling? I’m flying with them in two weeks and wondering if I can leave my noise cancelling headphones at home. Thanks for the awesome review.

Food and Footprints Late night is the only way to go. Arriving in Asia during the AM vs. a daytime flight where you arrive in the evening feels like you miss out on a day or a waste of a day IMO. Plus, the airport isn’t as crowded as during the day and TSA lines aren’t crazy. ( I highly recommend TSA Pre-check if you fly often. It’s worth the money if your airport has it)

Noiiice... I flew Premium Economy with Singapore Airlines last month... Quite enjoyable... I would have gone with the Asian chicken main meal option... You can get to Business Class easier if you have a loyalty membership... (chance is higher of upgrade) Either stick to one airline or airline group (skyteam for China Airlines, Delta, Air France KLM, etc.) FYI: Eva Air is Star Alliance (Singapore, Lufthansa, Swiss, United, ANA, Thai, etc.)

The pasta surprised me! I haven't flown international since I was three years old, and I don't remember much of it. The last time I flew, which was two years ago, I got served snacks, sice the flight was domestic. I flew from Denver to Los Angeles, and from Los Angeles to Denver.

The snickers bar! I wasn’t expecting that! They had less in their amenities(adult goodie bag) compared to last year. All good tho! Those seats tho- that’s why we fly China airlines all the time and in premium economy - lean back and not in anyone’s space

Depending on the Airline Premium Economy offers nothing more than extra leg room. I just flew back from Thailand on Asiana, paid an additional $170 for a Premium Economy Seat on top of the price of my Ticket. Got nothing but 4 extra inches of leg room in front of me. Total Ripoff. In comparison, got Premium on JAL last hear and was treated to a reclining leather seat and unlimited food and snacks.

Generally purchase this fare only if its at a decent discount (usually EVA or China Airlines from YVR to my Thai home several times per year). China Airlines cabin is smaller, and the seats slide forward so you don't intrude in anyone else's space; both airlines have dedicated washrooms and I've been happy with the service on both. Dedicated check-in line as well and Zone 2 boarding. :)

If I'm not wrong SG airlines doesn't even have an amenities kit for business class. So I was surprised about that. I love that the seats recline without disturbing the person behind as well. But I don't think it would beat the lumbar support on the middle eastern airlines.

It looks like you couldn't take full advantage of the empty seat next to you because the armrest couldn't flip up. There is still the barrier between the seats preventing you from fully spreading out. But the way it reclines seems unique.
