This is the original 1936 theatrical trailer of the 1936 film, China Clipper.
The story is mostly fictional, however, screenwriter Frank Wead loosely disguised his screenplay as biographical based on Pan Am founder Juan Trippe. In fact, the film was made with the cooperation of Pan American Airways and most of the newsreel and production footage were real Pan Am aircraft.
Aviation film historian Mark Carlson described the film as a "veiled advertisement for what was once one of the greatest airlines in the world."
