Update on this issue : india had sent a formal request to International seabed authority to give permission to mine these cobalt block India even Offered 4 crores to the Authority but The Authority rejected India's offer But in a new twist - Sri Lanka which also sees a claim says they will give the cobalt block to india if they get the permission from Authority China wanted this Block to go to Sri Lanka so that they can Get the mining permission Since Sri Lanka doesn't have mining capibilities Its quite Shocking if Seabed authority grants permission to Sri Lanka an economic crisis country with Huge debt given this block wuth no way to use it Under such Conditions india should have Taken the block by force China will also likely do the same
