China is making railwayline from Afghanistan to Iran and then from iran directly to China which will connect China on one side with middle east and on the other hand with central asia. China no longer needs ML1 in Pakistan. It was so delayed because Pakistan didn't know it while China knew about this plan already.

The flip side of the postponement is good for the country, why? Because it is a trimmed version of the original ML1 project, and with two major flaws in it that will haunt the nation in decades to come. The first flaw is the reduced speed of trains from 180KM/hour to 120KM/hour; the rest of the world introducing 1000KM/hour like in Canada or hyperloop projects. Contrary to this, we introduce a 120KM/hour speed train system which is very slow for businesses in modern times. The second and the most dangerous flaw in that was the removal of barriers in the rail-road way --- This reduces the cost but simultaneously will increase the cost in three areas (I) Frequent Accidents and Repair Costs (II) Insecure Travelling (Business community will not prefer it). (III) The accidents will cause delays and goods/services will not accomplished at the desired time. All in all, this ML1 project with two major flaws will be counterproductive and a waste of huge investment and money. Now we have time to rethink and make this ML1 project more speedy 200+km/hr and with reliable security barriers in the pathway of rail-road.
