China Mac - Navigating the LA Streets from a NY State of Mind

Cinemills TV sits down with China Mac who has been a fixture of Hip Hop and served time for
shooting MC Jin's associate. Born to Chinese immigrants, from Hong Kong, China Mac grew up rough and tough on the streets of New York. The void in the sense of not having a Family was filled by joining a local street gang made up of Asian Street youth called the Ghost Shadows gang. During his teenage years China Mac while incarcerated began battle rapping other youth offenders and developed a love for Hip Hop Culture. China Mac has become an Asian activist providing a voice for the voiceless and showing young Asian men and women that they don't have to be subservient to Society and can stand for what they believe without violating the beliefs of others. China Mac is highly principled and lives by the G Code - he believes respect isn't granted it is earned by being stumped down and holding down your people.
Thank you, China Mac, for being a man of honor and a man of your word. You live what you preach and that's rare these days. We feel your authentic self and so do the listeners.

@@cinemillstv You and your team deserve the most, your work is magnificent and it is very apparent that you all take a deep dive in to the folks you are interviewing before having them up. Top quality for sure. One person that I'd love to hear more about is "Charles Cosby" - he was the main feature on the documentary "Cocaine Cowboys 2".... he was the lover and right hand man of Queen Pin Griselda Blanco. It would be nice to hear his story outside of the documentary, how his relationship is with her son "Michael Coreleone Blanco" now a days, and if he could clarify weather or not he snitched. The documentary played a recorded jail call where Charles asked about her plans to kidnap one of the Kennedy's, and folks assume that he was cooperating, hence, the question about the plan. There are few interviews out there with him, and I think it would be interesting to hear. I came across a podcast a couple of years back where a former agent confirmed Charles cooperation, and I always wondered the story behind that. I'm sorry I can not remember the podcast, but I am sure it will come up in your research if you chose to interview him. Thank you again for your work, I know it is very time consuming, however, your passion shows through the quality of your production. Stay warm, sending you love and peace.

Guest in hip-hop just shows people's ignorance. If it wasn't for the Asian cultural contribution to music as a whole, we wouldn't have the tools to produce the art form. Dig further than the first BS thing that pops up. This study was done in 2007 (16 years ago) do think gang members have increased or decreased since then? SOURCE: www.laalmanac.com/crime/cr03v.php Despite Los Angeles County's label as the "Gang Capital of the United States, gang population estimates for anywhere in Los Angeles County and gang-related crime statistics have not been forthcoming in recent years. In fact, the last estimates of any sort for Los Angeles County were released in 2007. In 2000, a 2000 U.S. Department of Justice report stated that Los Angeles County had more than 1,300 gangs with more than 150,000 members. Within the City of Los Angeles, a 2007 City of Los Angeles report stated that there were more than 400 separate gangs and an estimated 39,000 members of these gangs. Of these, more than half were Latino. Since the time of these reports, veteran journalist and author Sam Quinnones stated in a 2015 interview with L.A. Taco that declining front-page gang activity in Los Angeles was due to gangs becoming more discreet, disillusionment and falling trust by members in gang leadership and priorities, aggressive gang injunctions and RICO prosecutions and new community policing strategies. 300K might actually be low by now.....

White, Mexican, Asian, Black, would all have his back and support him. But at the end of the day, he isn't that good at it. For example, Stoopid Young, He's Asian and yet many of the Blacks, Mexicans, Asians, and even Whites has his back just because his flow is good. Because he's actually "good at it"... rofl. I love China Mac, but honestly... he should just stick with his food reviews. I understand where he's coming from and his past, but that doesn't mean he's good at rapping and how he is affiliates with hip hop just because he grew up in NY. Whether or not you think he’s good at rapping isn’t the point. People are not calling him a guest because he’s not good at rapping their calling him a guest because he’s not black. Yiu obviously don’t like his music, but his point of hip hop culture transcends race is on point. You are just hating on him at this point

Did you hear china Mac’s Diss song on stupid young? See china mac came home and had nyc in a frenzy with his music for the first 2-3 years, but he is much older than stupid young and his rap style is old school boom bap so it did not resonate with the time. China mac is 40 something lol. Stupid young is 20 something of course young’s music will be more accepted. But China Mac paved the way for a lot of Asians, don’t hate on my son.. and ain’t you Asian.. shame on u

Hip hop is a new york thing. So anyone who isn't from new York is a guest in hip hop.
