The Schönbrunn Zoo in Austria and San Diego Zoo in the United States are both world-renowned zoos. It is understood that the China Wildlife Conservation Association and Austria's Schönbrunn Zoo formally signed a new round of international cooperation and research agreement in giant panda conservation yesterday. A pair of giant pandas will be selected from the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda to be sent to Austria to carry out 10-year conservation protection. Giant pandas Yuan Yuan and Yang Yang that live abroad in Austria, will return to China this year.
Giant pandas Yun Chuan and Xin Bao departed for the San Diego Zoo in the United States this morning on a charter flight. China and the U.S. have made various preparations to ensure their health and safety during the flight in accordance with the relevant requirements and technical standards for international giant panda conservation cooperation. Chinese experts will stay in the U.S. for about three months to accompany the two giant pandas through the quarantine and inspection period and while they adapt to the new living environment. The public will be able to learn about their daily lives through a variety of channels. We believe that a new round of China-Austria and China-U.S. giant panda conservation cooperation will make new contributions to promoting the health and well-being of giant pandas, improving the conservation capabilities of giant pandas and other endangered species, promoting the protection of global biodiversity, and enhancing the friendship between Chinese and foreign peoples.
2.
