They are already used to border conflict like that. In China-India borders, they have the same border conflicts that happen all the time. Some will get injured, but no further actions will be taken. It's the first time to happen in the Philippines since they haven't encountered border wars before, that's why they felt wronged by Chinese actions.

As patriots entrusted with the security and sovereignty of our nation, we must transcend personal interests and prioritize the safety and well-being of our people. It is unacceptable that while our coastguards bravely confront aggressors, some of our highest officers engage only in rhetoric without concrete actions to bolster our defense capabilities. This situation not only undermines our deterrence but also emboldens those who seek to undermine our territorial integrity. We must heed the lessons of history and reassert our commitment to protecting Philippine waters and upholding international law. Now is the time for bold leadership and decisive action. We must equip our forces adequately, enhance our surveillance capabilities, and ensure that every Filipino coastguard knows they have the full backing of their leadership in defending our sovereignty. The Filipino people look to us for protection, and you must and shall deliver. Let us not falter in the face of aggression.
