Professor Gao is definitely underrated, this man went through the GLF famine, he was a barefoot teacher during the CR and experienced struggle sessions. This man still upholds the legacy of Socialist PRC with Minqi Li and Dongping Han. Remarkable, i have serious respect for Professor Gao.

I think the thing I noticed during reading book of Mobo Gao is that he want debunk WESTERN views and books. Sometimes his criticism is very subjective and inaccurate (same Jun Chang “debunking”). Plus, I found pretty much contradictions in the book. I can say that the best source I read about CR was Soviet and Russian. They are whole different level from criticism of Western experts And I believe that it would be much more informative than both Mobo Gao and Han Dongping
