What was supposed to be a static fire, where the rocket stays in place while the engines ignite, turned into a maiden flight. For more space-related content check out - thespacebucket... Credit: SpaceX - / spacex
The fact you can watch a rocket test fire in China from your back porch and still see it so clearly is absolutely terrifying, especially when it accidentally lifts off and belly flops back down.
So, so many things constructed in China in this modern age are cloned and reversed engineered! In other words, it’s industrial espionage. But to give them credit, if that’s due, they generally do a pretty good job with their copying techniques!
Yes, an explosive flight termination system should be fitted for flight tests but this wasn’t meant to be a flight test so it probably wasn’t installed
I see. Sooo, the connection is lost, therefore the 'default' setting is for it to immediately 'lift off'. After reaching 1.5km the "on board computer automatically shuts engine down". Might it have just been easier to not take off in the first place? Was there not a single *software* interlock ANYWHERE?
The mechanism that was meant to keep the rocket tethered to the launch pad failed during a test firing of the engines and allowed the rocket to unintentionally take flight. This wasn’t a software issue or failure but, the rocket’s flight computer did seemingly recognize an issue and shut down the engines. However, rocket engines aren’t easily shut down and there can be a lag time between the system recognizing an issue and throttling the rocket engines down completely, until they are fully shut off. Although, it does appear that the flight termination system, if one was even installed and activated in the first place, failed to do it’s job and initiate a purposeful detonation of the rocket at altitude, instead of allowing it to fall back down and explode on impact with the ground. As it should have detonated the rocket in the air to prevent any potential further damage to the launch pad or other surrounding structures as well as for the safety of any people nearby. Luckily this rocket seemingly wasn’t fueled with hypergolic propellants like dimethylhydrazine and nitrogen tetroxide, as many other Chinese rockets are. Hypergolic fuels are incredibly toxic, corrosive, highly carcinogenic and extremely reactive to the point that they auto-ignite in the presence of one another and are easily recognizable by their distinctive hazy orange color (specifically in their gaseous state)
Harbor Freight’s usual substandard materials being used 🙄 😂😂😂 A tip for this space “agency”: Stop stealing and start innovating; you keep failing at the last 10% of quality.
You are under the impression that everyone is copying the US but it's the US that's spying and stealing from various countries. Our government tells us that it's superior and our military our technology everything is the best and that's a lie. That rocket isn't new it's piggy backed off of old rockets. If you can make an intercontinental ballistic missile you can make a fucking rocket. None of this technology is new not to us or to the Chinese. Even Iran launched their own satellites and rockets hell north Korea can to. The technology of reusing rockets and it flying back isn't new either like I said none of it is new. There are failure's in rockets using a solid booster rocket is equally more dangerous because there is no way to control it liquid filled they could have controlled it but solid once you have a problem it's over.
That’s a load of BS, if that had been the case, how come that China became the first country on earth to land successfully twice on the far side of the moon & scooped up some moon samples & brought it back to earth successfully. ! China is the first Asian nation to build & operate its space station , now operating for several years already , orbiting high above yr country while the ISS is going to be history very soon. Let’s not forget about China’s rover vehicle still operating on Mar’s surface , while other countries’ vehicles on Mars were dead. U want to talk about superior space rocketry & technology from China space exploration. ? U need to recheck on China’s track record for its rockets superior performances compared to other countries.
