China’s government has announced a rare, one-off cash handout for orphans and people living in extreme poverty, just a day after unveiling a massive economic stimulus plan. The cash aid, to be distributed by October 1, comes as part of China’s efforts to address rising economic challenges. With $142 billion in liquidity injected into financial markets and mortgage rates slashed, China is attempting to stabilise its property sector and provide relief to struggling communities. The problem with China's economy is that they're too healthy and too cautious, both the civilians and the government. Their private sector cash savings alone has amounted to more than 40 tn USD, and increasing by around 1-2 tn USD annually. Their country's overall debt (consumer, corp, central, local gov, etc) stands at around 59 tn USD, or at around 320% of their GDP which is also low. Compared that to the US (Google "US Financial Position" and read the Wikipedia article). With that much amount of wealth hoarded, but minimal consumer spending, their economy will always look stagnated, hence some stimulus is needed to push their people to stop saving and start spending. China is like one of those people who have hundreds of million dollar in their savings and investment account, yet drives a Honda Civic, while The US is like one of those people who live in huge houses, drives lambo and Rover, yet drawned in debt.

China's 4.8% GDP growth in 2023 and 2024, are the same as 11% growth in 2012. Their GDP size is so big now that even at 4.5% growth rate, the growth size is outrageously large. Further, look at what Chin has achieved in the last 5 years: passed Japan as the largest car exporter in 2023, most of those cars are EV cars; passed South Korea as the world's biggest Large Scale Ship Builder in 2023; produce computer 7nm chips AT SCALE, dominating green energy sector; dominating pharm sector; and most recently they can produce DUV Lith Machin (tools to make computer chips) with 65nm resolution. And along the way, they popped the Real Estate bubble too. So, the Chinese economy is doing quite well. It might slow down here and there, but their GDP industrial output is shifting to EV cars, high tech and green energy. What China is doing is carefully maneuvering their economy from a low-income nation into a middle-income nation. You will see some up and downs, but eventually they will sail through.

No you are wrong, giving out money doesn't devalue it. That only happens if the country keeps printing money whilist it isn't producing enough products and services, and also not exporting enough. An economic power house like China, can afford to do this without a problem really, especially if the money is meant to stimulate the economy and support businesses to contribute to the country's GDP. GDP determines the country's currency value to larger extent. @@kingdorm9546
