Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi accused the US of "devising various tactics to suppress China" and said Washington's "lengthening" unilateral sanctions list had reached "bewildering levels of unfathomable absurdity." The US and China are at odds over an array of issues including sanctions and access to technology, territorial disputes in the South China Sea, and Taiwan. On the sidelines of a political gathering in Beijing, Wang said China will "take justified actions to defend our rights" in the South China Sea. He said China has been exercising a high degree of restraint," even after the Philippines accused Chinese vessels of "dangerous maneuvers." On Taiwan, Wang said China will continue to strive for "peaceful reunification." His comments come on the heels of leader Xi Jinping calling to mobilize "patriots" to oppose Taiwan independence. CNN's Kristie Lu Stout reports.
