I have my popcorn ready. Let's go to space! Besides learning things about the space industry I have also noticed the way you guys have mastered the skills of giving a presentation without pausing or any "ums and ahs" in between words which I'm currently learning myself because I believe it gives more credibility and impetus to the topic being presented. Thanks boys
Id love to see a detailed review to better understand why spaceX rockets can launch so much more satellites over the Chinese rockets, i would guess its the engine but Idk the details
China uses her own brainpower, The US has always foreign specialists like Wernher von Braun for Saturn V, and now Elon Musk from South Africa, big difference
From RT while they still have a www presence and not under DDOS attacks "Roscosmos will cease work on joint space projects with Europe and the United States and instead seek cooperation with China, the head of the Russian space agency Dmitry Rogozin announced on Saturday. Rogozin told Tass news agency on Saturday that he had given his team an order to start negotiations with Beijing on coordination and mutual technical support of all deep space missions, including the ‘Venera-D’ project, the first Russian mission to Venus since Soviet times."
I think the crisis in Ukraine and the resulting sanctions will spawn deeper space cooperation between Russia and China for the next several decades. These two countries together will make great strives in space exploration. Can't wait for the moon missions from this joint effort from the two good neighbors.
@@menomusicalbutmykidsare9116 That's if the US doesn't start WW3 - US have just started flying fighter jets over Taiwan not just in the huge ADIZ zone that includes the mainland today
the tengyun system really caught my attention, imagine flying from Shanghai to Dubai in less than 4 hours, such system will be revolutionary for international travel, and further enhance globalization. i believe in the near future, someone could literally live in Dubai and work in Shanghai. a note regarding starship. based on the latest CGI from SpaceX, i personally believe Starship is too ambitious. at the front of the starship, SpaceX planned a viewing deck for the entire crew with a lot of glass to improve sightseeing experience. but glass by itself is very fragile in space, it can be easily shattered by space debris. that's why the ISS has reinforced steel glass, and in case of emergency it has another layer or steel shield to protect the glass. furthermore, traveling from earth to Mars is an extremely long trip, all available space should be used to store supplies or other emergency items, having that viewing deck is an incredible waste of space. i don't know who at SpaceX design that CGI, but definitely not someone from engineering. and finally, the CGI for SpaceX still doesn't show how SpaceX plans to solve the gravity problem, because it has been proven that pro-long space flight significantly decrease bone and muscle density, you definitely don't want Mars colonists arriving half dead.
I also feel that the Elon’s starship project is over ambitious. Before any human landing on Mars, talking about carrying more than 100 human to immigrate to Mars seems far fetched and beyond my understanding.
Would you guys consider exploring a more conversational format between Blaine and Jean side by side instead of one of you each taking on a specific topic? A more conversational approach likely would bring out more of your in depth knowledge and chemistry…
Hi Lucheng, thanks for your comment! We are actually moving the weekly news coverage to audio and newsletter only, and this will be handled by Blaine. I (Jean) will be managing the RU-vid channel, with a focus on topics not necessarily always linked to something that happened during the week. This is to make running the channel a bit more efficient, because we were finding it increasingly difficult to do this alongside our full-time jobs 😕
🇪🇺🇺🇸🇷🇺 tensions are currently on-going but there’s no announcement of an early retirement of the ISS (yet?). Hopefully the ISS will survive this crisis…
I'm sure the US can do better if only they can forget about fighting in wars continuously all over the world and and spending their time and resources focusing on remaining the hegemon.
Heya! We left the Long March 9 out of this episode because we were focusing on crewed spaceflight (the title in this respect is admittedly a bit misleading). Even though the LM9 will probably be human-rated, we don't have much info and this still needs to be confirmed. But for sure, we're keeping an eye on the Long March 9! 😉
Hi Douglas, we would like to do subtitles, but it's simply that it's too time-intensive to make (Dongfang Hour being a side hobby). Sorry about that ☹️
