Dongguan is sometimes called “the world’s factory” due to its prosperous manufacturing industry, and some 75% of its 8.34m population are migrant workers who return home during the festive period, leaving the city nearly deserted

**28 - towns are under Dongguan’s jurisdiction.
**75% - of the population who are migrant workers. Of the city’s 8.34 million people, only 1.91 million are registered as residents

Also the home of Huawei's R&D center.
Huawei Ox Horn Campus is a European-themed model village constructed on the south shore of Songshan Lake, in Dongguan, Guangdong province, China. It was constructed in the late-2010s to house the research and development offices of technology company Huawei.
