I am not sure which international court gives fair judgement for China. In UN has power. II do not believe in any territory dispute , it is not matter of legal or ilegal. The ambassador is soft and could be easily understandable to the point of view he wanted to emphasize even though we are against his reasonings....but the reality on the ground where thier military are doing and treating our fishermen is another story...they are bullying and insulating them...China must abide by international rule of Law and not to thier one-sided point of view..they should not act like a victim because they are the agressor..

It's not about the profits it's about My fellow Filipinos who had a long history of fishing on that area harassed by this Chinese Navy,Both China fishermen's and ours share that Reef or Island for a very long time and why all of a sudden Chinese Navy harassed our fishermens not to fish there and told us that its their territory.

My understanding is although all those islands and rifts are far away from China, but traditionally considered as Chinese. I supposed it was so until around 1970's. And as fishing grounds, until then they were open to all the surrounding nations' fishermen and there was peace and order in the region.. Off and on there were cases of others' marines personnel that disrupted the fishing works of the Chinese. There was a big case a few years ago where the Philippines marine police shot and killed Taiwanese fishermen. Basically, I gathered that the Chinese maintained they are the title holder based on historical chronologies, but willing to share development and of course profit. Remember, those days in the 60-70's, China was not better than any one of her neighbors, safely said. I presumed the idea was targeting Japan at that time. I believe this option is still standing, since this was the initial intention and if China were able to officially preserved her sovereignty, I think the China would more than happy to agree.

Wrong. China had made reservation to unclos 2006 to protect china territorial soveriegn that exsisted prior to unclos establishment which includes the scs. Unclos had accepted them. And its within china right of reservation and unclos article 298 to reject this arbitration and its judgement as invalid.

Besides philipine had already bypass negotiation , arbitration or any court proceedings by knowingly violating sinojapan treaty and treaty of paris when marcos annex china spratlies and sea. Its already a military challenge into china territotial soveriegn. China only needs to sent their navies to reclaim their spratlies snd sea.
